No problem, Hellem. I will adjust it.

EDIT 14:15
Karula
Last data received by GPRS: 2019-03-31 10:13:17 (UTC+3)
Next data session expected: 2019-03-31 16:13:17 (UTC+3)
Because of the switch to summer time, it seems that all data sessions for Karula will be available 1 hour later. (UTC +3)
So the afternoon update is expected at 15:13:17 CET (instead of 14:13:17 CET)

I have to go. Have a nice Sunday afternoon.

Me too, Liz.
(And even less worried when he will be back in Karula National Park.)

For what it is worth:
According to AccuWeather, the weather in the Middle East wasn't good, last week, and it still isn't.
https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather- ... n/70007823

"Following deadly flooding (in Iraq on 25.03), more heavy rain will target the Middle East into the start of April.
Through Monday
(today), a storm moving across the region will become stronger as it moves eastward, bringing the steadiest rain from Syria and Lebanon to southeast Iraq, western Iran and southeast Turkey."

I wish I knew where Karl is, at this moment.

It seems to me that Karl has not had much luck with the weather so far.
Based on Sova's daily weather reports, I have made a brief overview.

Above Africa, Karl had headwinds all the time.
With a favourable wind direction (tailwind) he could have been able to fly almost twice the distance/day there. (on average).

In the Middle East, there seems to be a lot of rainfall, which in turn does not help to cover large distances.

In Africa
16.03 NE (29 km/h); at 15:00 N/NE (22 km/h)
17.03 NE (34 km/h); at 15:00 N (30 km/h); + 299 km
18.03 N/NE (20 km/h); at 15:00 N (15 km/h); + 87 km
19.03 NE (25 km/h); at 15:00 N (20 km/h); + 188 km
20.03 NE (21 km/h); at 15:00 NW (21 km/h); + 234 km
21.03 NE (22 km/h); at 15:00 N (21 km/h); + 142 km
22.03 NE (28 km/h); at 15:00 NE (19 km/h); + 126 km
23.03 E (25 km/h); at 15:00 E (14 km/h); no data
24.03 no data
25.03 NW (43 km/h); at 15:00 NW (47 km/h); + 1101 km in 3 days (average = + 333 km/day)

Flight from Africa to the Middle East
26.03 W/NW (20 km/h); at 15:00 in Ne'ot Hakikar W/SW (24 km/h) + 533 km (the only very good day!)

In the Middle East
27.03 SW (20 km/h); at 15:00 W/SW (25 km/h); Precipitation; + 210 km
28.03 S/SW (07 km/h); (at 15:00 in Jezzîne) SW (10 km/h); + 117 km
29.03 SE (23 km/h); (at 15:00) variable directions (04 km/h); Precipitation; + 137 km
30.03 no data
31.03 no data
01.04 no data

Good evening everyone,

thank you very much, Sova, for the weather reports, and Anne, for the overview of Karls flight weather. This all seems really not favorable. And now heavy rain and a bad storm. :slap: I hope, Karl can find shelter somewhere.
I'll keep an eye on the birdmap this evening.

Thank you also for Karulas updates and pictures! She's obviously fine when she flies around so much. :-)

Edit:
Hello Anne :hi:
Now Karula has an update ... Maybe we can hope for an update for Karl a bit later.

Based on Sova's daily weather reports, I have made a brief overview
Thank you for the weather list!
It really looks like Karl has no luck with the air now.
And yes, I'm a little worried too when there are no new updates,
but maybe he's just waiting for better air.
