Lotte flew out and the owlets were alone at home. So nice that there are now two, they can cuddle with each other

Leo delivers a fresh mouse for the owlets. Lotte eats the head herself and then feeds the owlets. Leftovers of the mouse go to the right side larder

Next feeding, again from the fresh mouse. There is still a bit left from it after the feeding, back to the right side larder

I have two questions.
1 Only I do not see a romy photo? I have small squares everywhere.
2 Why to Lotte such fluffy. I such. saw anywhere any more.
Hi Sonchik :hi:

ad 1)
I don´t know why you can´t see them, they default for me :puzzled:

ad 2)
I think it is Lotte´s maternal and protective behaviour to fluff up when she takes care of the owlets.
And another reason is probably insulation ..... owlets are fresh hatched and still need a lot of warmness. When she is fluffing up her feathers she can insulate her body warmth better and keep it in/under her for the owlets.

For me it since the beginning of a season the most fluffy owl in the world. It is very unusual! Ball.

The bird is inconvenient to feed the Chicks? Is that why Lotte didn't take it?

I am very grateful to all for a photo, video and information!
