5:52 Kati stands up, shakes her plumage, is doing a PS... wing beating. She settles on the eggs.. but one or two eggs are under her wing

It looks very cold.. frost is on her wings

5:57 she is rolling the egg, that was outside, in the middle of the nest and covers it too.

6:43 Kati stands up, is scratching her head . Short aerating the nest bowl and back on eggs
There is still ice on her wings

7:13 another egg rolling and aerating

I hope we see Karl II soon. It seems unusual to me that he is not here :puzzled:

8:10 she is preening her left wing and back to rest
Now and then she breathes very visibly. Breeding is very exhausting.

Hello, everyone :hi:
Many thanks for pictures, videos and reporting.

It is bizarre that Kati didn't cover one egg, several times.
Could it be a strategy to reduce the brood size? :puzzled:

It is also strange that Karl II stayed away for so long.
I guess we will never know the reason. He came home with muddy feet.

Thank you, Liz!
I believe it could have been a rough-legged buzzard. (Buteo lagopus) :puzzled:

09:32 Karl II finally came home.
Image

09:33 He took care of the eggs.

09:35 He covered the eggs
