9:25 Female on the nest, Ivo brought a big fish, was mantling and flew away with the fish
9:29 Re-delivery, female took the fish and flew away, 9:47 female is back and cleans her beak

Kerfuffle on the nest - a third osprey involved!

I think it was a second female, with a metal ring only

First the current unringed female comes over from the dead tree, then Ivo lands on the nest, making his submissive gestures* and then a third osprey with metal ring on right leg lands. Current unringed female beats it off the nest.

* because of this I think the stranger was a female

She's still well in the window of time but I'm getting restless.

The osprey with only right leg metal ringed can mean an osprey born in Finland ...

Ivo still has a red mark on his left leg.

I am convinced that it is only fish blood - he wouldn't move that smoothly, digging the nest, if his leg was not ok.
The red color is less than yesterday - and will be less and less as much as he fishes and dives in water

Who sits in the dead tree during the day for many hours ............... IVO?! ............. I am losing my hope that IRMA will come back...............

In 2014 Ima arrived on April 24th, but I too am losing hope for her return this year. She is getting on in years. Her first year on this nest was 2013, and if she was at least 3 years old then, she would be at least 9 years old now.
Perhaps she decided she has raised enough babies, and stayed in Africa.
