Magnus :loveshower:

After his long journey he will be very happy that all the nest work is done already :headroll:
Poor other male. All his dreams shattered

I'm happy for Magnus :loveshower: and sorry for the nest-preparing male.
As LSEs are returning from Africa, he may still meet a nice lady to his heart.

We will see, but his arrival came at the wrong moment, as it looks.

Magnus visited the nest.
It seems to be only a short visit.

Wow! I did not notice. Do we have a new (old) male in the nest? Oh, poor boy (one that had to leave).

But I know, long-term observers always want the original bird to come back home. So I am glad for them

That's the same female who was with that other guy before Magnus arrived, isn't it, with the metal ring on her right leg? (Hmm, there's no true love anymore these times, not even in birds  )

That "other guy", I miss him a lot... he was so dilligently building the nest, so eager to please his lady...

I am like you. I also feel sorry every time when one of the birds has to leave.
There was a similar situation at Ivo and Irma s nest, after mating with another female osprey original resident female Irma came back home. It was quite difficult to accept (for me).

29. April

There was some business on the nest in the morning

05:21
Magnus arrives and his female follows at 05:23
He tries to convince her from mating, but it looks as if she was more interested in a breakfast.
Mating attempts fail. No breakfast, no mating ;)
Female leaves.

Female on the nest, Magnus coming in short after her. They leave one after the other, after only short time on the nest.

Female came back to the nest at 06:00 and stayed until 06:28

It would be great to have Magnus and family here in this nest. Following his migration - this enormous distance - and then watching him here so close is so impressive  I would love to see chicks :bounce:
