Karl was special indeed. I remember when there was a heavy storm in Karula on 3 July 2016 and Kati did not return on the nest after that. Karl appeared more than a week later surprisingly with rings and a transmitter and stayed with his offsprings till the end of the season. :cry:

Solo, it was a BS nest, the first one in Estonia that I watched in 2007. So they have been "on the agenda" for me for a long time too.

to all dear karl missing people!
I cant understand how it can happen that karl and also his transmitter can disappear at once? the transmitter would work even if Karl perished. What must happen that both disappear. a fire? fallen into deep water?

year ago the same situation happened with PL (= Polish) young BS in Lebanon, 30 km from Beirut, in April 2018 during his second spring trip to Europe - they think, that the bird (probably was shot) and/or only the transmitter was immediately buried :bow:

solo, thank you for the Information, although the news are very sad. in moments like this I wished never have found this link . so many losses. I am sad also for your tobias and all the others I dont know...
looking out of my window I just saw two buzzards. I started in looduskalender about 3 years ago watching the buzzard nest, but I dont find them any more. do you know something about them, because I saw that your are present in many forums?
