Thanks, Jo

Your tracker map still shows the same situation as on today's morning map. :puzzled:

I see that today, the evening data session at 22:13:22 (UTC+3) failed too.
That's the second time in a row that the data session failed.

I really hope that our Karula is OK.
Hopefully we will have new data tomorrow morning.

Last data received by GPRS: 2019-04-24 at 10:13:22 (UTC+3)
Next data session expected: 2019-04-25 at 04:13:22 (UTC+3)

Anne, oh no, now I'm really worried. Are there still nets over the fish ponds where Karula is staying? :puzzled:

I don't know, Summi.
The last time we received data is more than 24 hours ago. Karula can be anywhere, by now.

This is the last known situation, yesterday morning (10:00:36 local time in Israel).
On the next attempt to receive data, 6 hours later, Karula can theoretically be more than 200 km away from that location.

I hope we will have contact with his transmitter this afternoon.
The GPS coverage in Israel should be good, I think.

thank you for all the updates! :2thumbsup:

I'm also in worry about Karula, but hope it is not necessary.
I cross my fingers that the next expected update of the trackermap is successful! :2thumbsup:

Hello, Michi

Unfortunately, also the afternoon data session at 16:13:22 (UTC+3) failed.
I do not like this at all.

Let's see the next expected update.

Thanks a lot for updates :2thumbsup:
Anne, Michi, Summi :hi: Karula may have started her return journey ?? It would be the right time. They start later than the adults.

Yes, Liz, maybe. It is possible.
But why did 5 consecutive data sessions fail?

IF Karula flew about 300 km since yesterday morning, he is already in Syria.

I really hope we will soon have new data.

Maybe she / he is like Mare. A master of hiding during migration.
My fingers are crossed, that we will soon have new data.

Liz  , yes, it‘s possible, that Karula is on the way to northern regions. Thank you for the hint. But, as Anne has said, that shouldn‘t be a reason for the missing data. :puzzled:
Where is Mare flying, Liz?

On the other hand, I don‘t know how good the GSM coverage is in Syria. All storks I’ve watched are flown nonstop over Syria. No one has rested there.
Better, Karula does the same. :2thumbsup:

good evening
Anne, Michi, Liz, Summi :hi:
If Karula really flies further, north, I hope that she already has the *** part ***.

Here is the GSM coverage.

Sova, Michi, Liz, Summi and everyone: HURRAY!
We have new data from our little Karula! :headroll: :headroll: :headroll:

Liz, you were right, he is travelling.
And I was almost right in estimating the distance and location. :D

Here is a tracker map showing the last 2 days:

Hurray!!! :loveshower: :headroll:
Such good news! Thank you for the new map and the picture, Anne! :2thumbsup:
So the assumptions were right, Anne and Liz. :D

Now I hope, Karula will fly on northwards very quick; Syria is a bad place for storks. He/she shouldn‘t stay there longer times.
As it‘s the first time for Karula moving north I‘m curious how he will behave.

I‘m very relieved that we have new data.

Karula spent the night from 24 on 25 April in a very beautiful area in Lebanon, near the Taanayel Lake.
(But I also see a shooting club on the map.)

Anne, these are very nice pictures from Lebanon, especially that one with the geese. From the shooting club I don‘t want to speak. In Syria danger is everywhere. :-/
