This is a terrible photo but I wanted to show it because you can see a large raptor on the top of the far tree. There are also two birds on top of the dead tree -- probably crows. It seems so large even at this distance.

It is so difficult to estimate the size of the big bird! Could it be Ivo, he did return to the nest a few minutes later? The birds on the dead tree could be wooden pigeons, they often stay there.

Lispet, Ivo was actually on the nest at that time when I took the screenshot (I thought it was Iiris until he got up); I wondered about another osprey or an eagle. I didn't know about wooden pigeons - here the pigeons live only in the cities and towns, not in the forest so they must be a different kind.

The bird was there from 04:53 to 05:35 and it was Ivo  He took off at 05:35 from that tree and came to the nest

Iiris would have not been so peaceful on the nest, if it had been another bird sitting there...

At 05:46 Iiris came and brought a large stick

No, I checked it. Iiris was on the nest at that time and it was Ivo. He stayed there from 4:53 until 5:35. At 5:35 you can see him flying from there to the nest.

seira wrote: May 5th, 2019, 6:32 pm Irma's necklace is very special. The 4/23 female's necklace and the feathers above the eyes do not match, the facial expressions are not the same, and the body size is relatively large ( Irma is very petite, the legs are not long... sorry Irma ).
I don't think the 4/23 female is Irma, and like annette said, Irma is tough and won't easily lose her nest.
:hi: I fully agree with You and with Annet. Outwardly, this osprey with one ring is not like Irma. And Yes! Irma never gave up its nest.
