If I remember correctly, Anne's theory was that it could be muscle tension. I think that could be true. The cold and the long sitting could trigger it. It is cold there. Hmm... I just do not know![]()

Adult birds do not sleep in a lying posture.
A lying posture isn't a 'normal' posture for them.
Maybe this very long lying on the eggs could cause a feeling of numbness, cramps or (muscle) tension.
And as you said, the cold will not help to relax.
But this of course only a guess.
