I'm going over last hours I can still watch, trying to document as much as possible while recording is still available.
Thanks everybody for your reports and pictures.
For days I was afraid of this moment coming.
17:59
18:19 #4 is still moving a bit
18:25 still moving the head a bit
then Klaara comes

Yes, since the larger ones could grab the preys it became very difficult. It is sad. It is very difficult to find out what and when it happened. One moment it was climbing its siblings and then just disappeared under the larger ones until they moved and showed it laying very still.

From 16:00 #4 was not moving very well already, very slow.
Milda who we were talking about, she was bigger, she was the first who made it into the window and she was sitting over there for hours around noon and after that. I didn't go to sleep, I was watching. And then she dropped down and dyed.(((

That is awful, Maggy. While you could say if they are strong enough to climb to the window, they must be alright. I assume they do not show how they actually are doing.Maggy wrote: ↑May 8th, 2019, 7:28 pm From 16:00 #4 was not moving very well already, very slow.

Klaara leaves
and back after a minute, she "dropped" in, as if being chased by something.

It happens every year in Klaara's nest: the fifth, the fourth and sometimes the third owlets don't survive.
