The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

The Eagle is at the very end of the video. There is a gap where all you see is the pole and woods because it's in one quarter time slow motion and I knew that the Eagle was moving at lightning speed.

11th May, 2019 - 01:18 hrs. a.m.:

Iris just came back with a nize sized fishie. She took some minutes to get comfy with the fish and the eggs:

01:25 hrs. a.m.:

Now she is eating the fish:

01:49 hrs. a.m.:

She is still eating. And more than half of the fish is still left. It was a big fish.

01:55 hrs.: She is settling on the eggs and the fish again. Probably to hide the fish from view.

15:04 hrs. (3:04 p.m.) *)

Iris had a visitor. A male was on the nest. Iris was calling. Just caught it when he left at 3:08 p.m., *) hence no pic.

*) Edited to correct the time stamp from '13' to '15'(typo).

Hi Rita!

According to the camops for Hellgate the official time he landed was 15:04.

A few videos. Last one is quite long but I wanted to capture the entire thing in case this male stays. Other things happened as well but to me, not worth shooting more video, of. :rotf:

16th May, 2019:

Whenever I looked up the live cam these last days there was no Iris no more.

Seemingly, she has abandoned the nest and her eggs. Brave and wise osprey. She knew.

Is there any more information from the local observers?

Hi Rita :hi:

Yes, Iris abandoned the nest and her eggs. She has not been back on the nest, at all, for 3 days, now. Very sad but the eggs had been left alone too long, too many times for them to be viable.

There is a local photographer who has posted a photo of her, flying near the river. I do believe it was her as it did look like her. There are some other Ospreys in the area as well. As far as I am aware, the new male and Louis have not been seen for 3-4 days at all.

Actually, we really don't know what is going on, now. I hope she hasn't decided to take up with another Osprey at a different nest and I really hope that new male did not go find someone else. He was so pretty and had come back to do more sky dancing above the nest with a fish but Iris would not let him on the nest and Louis finally came to the nest, too, to keep him away. Very sad.

I will post updates if anything happens or they are seen close enough for me to shoot video of them.

In the mean time, I am going to go back to the Dunrovin nest and shoot video of Harriet and Hal. She has 3 eggs and they keep having intruders. Hal is brining fish a lot so at least Harriet is getting enough to eat.

See you soon!

Hi Chimega,

Thank you so much for the update and thank you in advance for whatever you might get to know
about Iris. *sigh*.

On May 18th, the Ravens came and took the eggs. There were two eggs.

Iris came to the nest and called and called, looking into the nest. She did this 3 times, then left.

The large visiting female made 3 stops on the Hellgate nest, today. During the second stop you can hear a male sky dancing overhead. She looks up when she hears him.

Two Ospreys land on the nest at Hellgate. The large female lands first, followed by another Osprey. This second bird looks like it could be a male to me but others are saying it's female as well. It looks and acts like a male to me. The larger female runs it off, waits a few minutes and leaves. Then here comes Iris followed by another Osprey which she quickly wards off before it can land.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

An American Robin stops by the nest and sings his morning song.

Iris comes to spend time on the nest and a bird that looks like an Osprey, but could be a Raven, passes overhead. Iris yells at it.
