Re: Fish Camera 2018
hello Alan and Cax, IceAge, Meike, brusnika, aita, asondheim and the others !
*subscribe, Alan /asondheim.
(Perhaps you have to post it here, too: Are the Webcams, Looduskalender or the Forum offline? ?)
I've just looked for some camera pictures in a tin ;)
Wonderes whether i have something helpful in the older videos, when i started with videos but didn't uploaded. And in deed, i found one more video with our pseudo-Hydra.
But watching this video i'm once more not the opinion, that it is a Hydra.
When i saw Hydras moving, they always contracted and stretched much more than this one.
And for a young Hirudinea it seems very long but I really don't know...
the video i've posted some days before: https://streamable.com/umf1v
the other video i found now: https://streamable.com/mqz10
and a third video i found with a newt: https://streamable.com/h5qav
but very short to see which one.
edit: i asked now somebody i know from former times, i think, he will surely know it ! :-)

This water critter cam has been great .. got to see bugs , worms , larvae , frogs , fish and baby fish , many different insects and various species of other water critters . That water was full of life and the cycle of life , an endless food source for all . It was always interesting . Thank you to the camera providers and maintenance people .

Thanks, Brusnika.visit wrote: ↑May 9th, 2019, 7:59 am Hello Meike and brusnika,

I didn't saw it before. Don't know why, but firefox sometimes don't show the video so i can't click.
The "worm" in the end of the video, what would you say, is it ?
Meike, which software do you use for cutting ?
I'm just looking for one for free for me. Probably won't do very much with it, but cutting, merging should be possible.
Hope we will soon have a view under water again :-)
@Visit, sorry, I didn't see your question earlier. I do not have a special software, I used the Video Editor that was on my Win 10 laptop. When I'm a little bit more advanced I will try another one

Hello Meike,
ah, ok. i don't have this one.
when i was looking for a free software, i found these names:
- free video cutter
- daVinci resolve
- shotcut
- windows movie maker
but i still don't have tried one of them.
best would be, if simple cutting is possible with vlc-player, too.
i could imagine, vlc can do it, perhaps on the weekend i'll try...
thank you for the answer :-)

Hello Cax, Meike, canadamerle, aita, asondheim, brusnika, IceAge and the others :)
where have you gone ?
i really don't know, what these black and white ufos are (once i saw a red one).
black may be tadpoles or great diving beetle (Dytiscus marginalis) ...
https://streamable.com/awkws
https://streamable.com/iyweh
but apart of this, i was listening to the birds, frogs and other animals...
when i heard at 1:00 am a bird singing, i thought immediately of a nightingale and you can listen it in the background - but the other one..., i would say, it sounds perhaps like a moustached warbler (Acrocephalus melanopogon) (or crickets ), but it is not really widespread in Estland - and i've never heard that warblers are singing by night in this intensity ?

Hello IceAge
Such a picture like yours i've not seen yet - the image detail is very good centred
Thank you ! :-) *wiping away laughing teardrops*
But yesterday in the night it was really loud with all the voices - perhaps you've heard in the video...
Sometimes in the night you can actually recognize something being there ;-)
i'll try to keep optimistic that we will one day see more again ! :-)
Keep your fingers crossed !

At the moment - 4.33. am, very much life front of the cam - like the Brownian motion, lol.

Nice camera again, thank you!
It seems to be a very fast stream, or is it a particularly stormy night tonight? Very many different types of fish here!

00:23 Some fish, like this one, love to snuggle in the tangled waterplants and let themselves sway like in a hammock for minutes. :)

“Animals, like us, are living souls. They are not things. They are not objects. Neither are they human. Yet they mourn. They love. They dance. They suffer. They know the peaks and chasms of being.” (G. Kowalski) Caveat: Apart from this remarkable sentence I do not agree with his philosophies.

yes, i realized a few days ago, that the cam is online again - but only today i see it the first time so early in the morning, when there are many fishes to see.
for me it is not so interessting (only fishes and i don't know them - perhaps recognized a stickleback). but it seems for me too, that there are quite a few different types.
in the morning you can hear some birds too.
during the day it had been very loud (cars, planes).

I've made some research and those small fishes should be
Gobio gobio
Alburnus alburnus
Gasterosteus aculeatus (that lone orange fish who hided behind the swimming plant on the right, and poses very front of the screen)
Leuciscus leuciscus
Phoxinus phoxinus
Pungitius pungitius
These are the small ones, but there are probably some more.
