11:37 a PS, probably by Riks. the chicks are behind the back of Raimis so it is difficult to tell. the chick was so big with black pin feathers on the back and wings so i think it was Riks.

Milda has come home with no food.
edit: she had food, she had brought a pike! when i saw her there she was standing in front of her fish.
Image

she stood the for about 10 min, preening herself, being cool a cucumber and holding the pike in hiding.

13:07 Milda took the head and gave a few bites to Mika. Riks attacked Mika's neck and bit her. now he began to eat.

Mika is sitting on the pike's body. Riks attacked Mika again.

and again. he is not full yet even though his crop is already big.

i know that no-one likes these pictures but i have to make a few. it's how life is here now.

13:13 a coot? poor Miks has still eaten nothing. His/her head is still down. But the chance that he gets something today is bigger now.

i think so, a coot. perhaps decapitated. there was a red spot on it and i haven't seen any white on it. but i haven't seen the legs either.
edit: there was white, too.
Image

what other black bird could it be? it's not a cormorant. :puzzled:

Riks is quite full but he is demanding more...
13:26 he turned away.
... and lay down. maybe now will be Mika's turn.
13:13 - 13: 27

... nope, one morsel offered to Mika and Riks is back, hitting her. :slap:

13:29 Milda had difficulties with the wind. :rotf:
Image

Image

and Riks beat Mika.
- Milda has some feather pointing up on her wing.
Image

there is so much food left on the nest that Riks can't possibly eat all that.
... but he is making a good effort in trying to eat it all.... :slap:
