But it already hatches 3 days after the first egg. This means that the 4th egg is incubated less time (3 days shorter than the 1st)....
the 4rd chick has another situation for beginning and the 1st and 2nd often hatch in one day and they are stronger

17:15 Karl II is here. both defend the nest. I'm happy that he came in the right time.
He will show this male the way out of the forest. He probably will not come back then

I also hope it, Liz.
OFAF should realise that it's not the right time for a romance with Kati. :D

Still a lot of screaming.

17:18:48 Kati seems to be less impressed by OFAF then Karl II.

17:22 OFAF is still here. Juvenile are very pushy. Karl II almost lot the balance

17:23 OFAF flew away
Karl II follows him. He will show him in a sustainable way that he is unwanted.
If possible, battles at the nest are avoided. The eggs are important, they should not be damaged.

I will make a video of the event tomorrow morning. The VLC player has been constantly interrupted.
maybe someone else will make a video. For me, it's easier to wait for the archive file to be available.

I mean: Kati does not seem to be very afraid of OFAF. And she looks less angry?
Maybe she got used to his love songs.

Crissy, many thanks! :2thumbsup:

While Karl II was turning the eggs at 19:21 I saw this.
It could also be dirt or moss, of course.

I am mostly just a silent reader here, but now I feel a great need to thank you, Anne, Liz, Crissy, Sova, balistar, visit and everyone for the beautiful and meaningful pictures, the often humorous comments and interesting informations as well as the videos.

It is a great pleasure to observe Karl II with his extraordinary activities in bringing moss and branches. But it's the same with your documentations here in the forum. The life at the nest becomes thereby very alive!
Big thanks to you all! :2thumbsup:

BTW: I think, tomorrow the hatching process will start. It's day 33. :2thumbsup:
(But I was so often wrong with my forecasts. )
