I constantly try to see if the chick is making good progress.
But it's hard to evaluate. The zoomed images are not very sharp.

16:40:53 Are there 2 eggs with a hole? The picture quality isn't good enough...

I wonder when Karl II will arrive.

18:50:10 Karl II comes home
Image

18:50:18 Kati leaves

18:50:56 I think I see 2 eggs with a hole! :D
Image

18:51:17 These are the same holes in the same eggs.
Image

I could not see if the other two eggs already have a pip.
It is very unlikely, but with Karl II as father, you never know.

They have, Sova! :D

The egg turn at 20:27 was really confusing. :puzzled:
Is it possible that 3 eggs have a hole? Or do I see ghosts?

I could not see if egg 4 has a hole too.

It would be a dream - three equal chicks to compete of food  Four hatched close to each other - even better :2thumbsup:

I guess it is possible, if the eggs have begun to be incubated more intensively at the same time ... This is only my guess, no knowledge ... :puzzled:

It's getting dark. Can't wait till morning to see them - three or four - though we all have trained to be patient, very patient indeed.

It is possible, Anne ! It just has happened somewhere with the white storks.
Three chicks within a few hours !

Hihi, Summi, if it was a cam with infrared, you wouldn't go to bed, would you ?

Hello, Baska
Good to see you back!

If white storks can do it, then Karl II and Kati can do it too.
Tomorrow will be an exciting day! I cross my fingers.

Sleep well, everyone

Good evening or good night all together,

what a wonderful day! So many holes at the first day of hatching I've never seen. :D
Thank you very much all for the detailed reports and pictures! :2thumbsup: So I haven't miss anything.

Some pictures of the later evening.
20:49 Karl II is at nest. Two quite big holes ... :D

Cutout from the pic above.

20:58 Karl II is up quite often and rolls the eggs very careful. Here are again the bigger holes in two eggs visible.
Image

Then Karl II rolled the eggs, moved egg no. 1 over the others and egg no. 3 was visible with probably a smaller hole.
Image

Egg no. 3

It will be an exciting day tomorrow.
Good night everyone!
