Liz, thank you for the feeding video. When I was watching it happen live on the cam I had to quit watching because I couldn't bear to see the little one keep missing out and falling over and out of the pack. Your video was heartwarming.
Parents: don't you sometimes wish you could just sit down on your kids like Karl II and Kati so they would be quiet and behave? :innocent:

Hellen, the same with me. When I watch the stream, I hang on a datail. I also saw the fight of # 4. When I do the video, I see all the detail. Very nice details.

9:27 Kati is feeding her little ones. They were in a row - all have eaten :loveshower:
I see four big crops :innocent:
This time little #4 is in front and another is behind the others. But it crawled quickly to the food. #4 is on the left

After feeding. #4 :innocent:

Change-over was 9:26 - Karl II flew to the right.

Good morning everyone,
thanks a lot, Liz, for the wonderful morning documentation! :2thumbsup:
It seems the smallest storklet has really a good chance to grow with that very good care. But one can see also, how bad the chances were without an extra care.

15:44 all four have eaten well. they were again in a row :innocent:
If you look at it on the big screen, you can see many small creepy-crawlies. Karl II removes them all. I think that's the reason for the preening... preening... preening :whistling:

16:40 Kati comes home
16:41 she starts feeding. Lampreys :whistling:
two are begging, two are sleeeping . The third one also wakes up. He could eat a lamprey with difficulty. The crop was not empty yet. # 4 did not beg, just looked briefly, what is there. It has no desire for lampreys

16:42:02 Who said there is no aggression among BS chicks?
Who is who? :puzzled:
For a second, I thought that the chick in the middle is the youngest, but that's hardly possible, is it?
Image

16:42:21 A huge load of lampreys!
Image

16:42:51 These three have eaten as much as they could swallow. Lampreys up to their ears. :D

Hello, Summi

Balistar
Yes, what a wonderful family!

There was another feeding at 17:52. Again a lot of lampreys.
The youngest chick was in a bad position, at first, but it managed to crawl to the front line!
It is a very strong and determined chick.

All 4 have eaten a huge amount of food. Their necks were distorted after the feeding. :D

17:52:04 Feeding by Kati. The 3 bigger chicks are already eating. The little one is behind them.
Image

17:52:09 #4 crawls to the front.
Image

17:52:56 OMG, these necks! The third chick can hardly keep its head upright. :-)
