17:16 Mika made WE and pooped. also Rika made WE.


18:24 Raimis made a short visit. he didn't bring anything.

18:29 Mika made WE and Rika pooped.


20:21 Milda brought a stick. the weather had become sunny.

20:25 Milda went to the top branch.
20:26 she flew away.


20:36 Milda brought a stick. she work hard with it and Rika helped her.
then the stick dropped.

20:38 Rika made WE and pooped.
20:41 Rika made more WE.


20:43 Milda went to the top branch.
20:46 she flew away to the direction of the Fish Market.

20:57 Milda brought a fish and began to feed the kids. Rika wanted the fish for herself and pecked Mika a few times. any way Mika got quite a few pieces of fish, too.

i had a break in the recording so the above was recorded afterwards from the delayed stream.

20:58 feeding continued...
21:03 feeding was over.

21:04 Milda went to the top branch.


21:09 Milda returned to the nest.

21:30 Mika played with a feather. then he pooped.


21:55 Raimis brought the fish which dropped. Milda jumped down after the fish. Raimis looked down for a while. then he jumped to the branch. finally he left.

22:21 Milda brought a carp. it's difficult to say if it was the same fish which dropped. usually a dropped fish is a lost fish, but Milda is so jealous of her fish that she perhaps managed to retrieve the fish.
she fed the fish to the kids.
22:31 feeding was over.


i'll check later if i can make something of the sounds that came from under the nest after the fish had fallen.

22:32 Rika pooped.

[ame]

23:33 i think Rika got up and pooped. then she stood upright for a few minutes and preened herself.


23:41 a bright spot appeared on the eastern sky and moved higher and to the right. after it had disappeared out of sight the sound came. it was an airplane which was so high in the sky that the sun still shed light on it. it is not at all unusual to hear airplanes fly over but very seldom one can see them.

good morning!

2:22 the nocturnal visitor was there again. the routines started as always: Milda banged her wings on the nest and gave warning calls. then the owl, the female tawny owl called several times, too. it seemed to be in one place. it's becoming braver/crazier or 'angrier' at Milda, i.e. more aggressive or challenging at her every time.


3:35 Milda talked in her sleep.


4:15 Milda stretched her wings and preened then she flew out.


4:33 Rika pooped. then she preened herself standing on the left corner till 4:40.

6:00 Raimis brought a fish.
this is not a carp.
i think this is a bream. the bream has relatively small head compared to the hump-back.

Raimis jumped to the right branch.

6:02 Raimis flew out.


Milda started feeding.
i made a mess of my recording and it failed, so i had to re-record from delayed stream. the quality is not as good as normally, plus it took a lot of time.
the delivery and beginning of feeding.


samples of the rest of the feeding which lasted till 6:42! almost all fish was gone, apart of a short piece of the tail. Mika ate first and Rika pooped while he was eating. then also Rika got her share.

The scene at 06:01 was unforgettable

A whole giant silver fish lying in the center, 2 eaglets siting and playing the piano on it, while a very proud dad was watching them. And as usual, waiting for the BOSS to chase him from the nest.

It's a much better morning after a bad evening in another nest.

I keep thinking what will be when eaglets remain some for the night? How will they cope with an owl?
Last year there was no owl?
