Do you think that we'll have this order of girl and boy every year ???

I am sure that last year eaglets were same-gender. I don't know boys or girls. They are too identical. Their beaks of an identical form.
This year very different. They must be of different sexes.

Yesterday it was good clearly who to whom is similar. Rika and Milda stood without moving, saved energy as write in books.
Mika has a lot of excess energy, as at the father.
At 18:27 she pinched something from a breast of Rika.
At 18:29 Mika waved wings in the close place.



Further its activity I proceeded still some time.

19:26:50 the tree shook and all were startled. i think that Milda landed on the top then.

On the right side at the top all the time in the shot of the branch fell.
Milda was on it, not on top. She walked on this branch and the eagles turned their heads.

21:50 Milda came down from the branch to the nest and settled down with the kids.

Milda found something and fed to Rika and ate.

7:02 Rika seemed to try to through up a pellet but she didn't she and Mika both got up and made WE.

Rika tried to make it yesterday several times. The first time when Raimis brought evening fish.

12:42 some unwanted visitor! Milda called. then the visitor flew by so near that Milda banged her wings. i could not see what it was. the enemy flew over the nest. the branch with cones was swinging because Milda's wings hit them.


also Rika called in almost an adult voice.
(but i'm not quite sure if she knew why she called. )
12:43 Milda looked in the sky still with an unhappy face.

earlier this morning:
9:39 two birds visited. one of them stayed 2 s on the tip of the top branch. i think they were wood pigeons.

12:45 Rika pooped with a whistle.


12:47 Rika bit Milda first in the beak and then in the toes.

12:54 Milda went to the top branch.

it is not certain that they were of the same sex. usually the size difference has not been so obvious as here now. for example Anna's and Uku's kids were not clearly different sizes, were they?

actually this year is an exception i think. their difference is so large that it can be a basis for the identification, for knowing who is who. that is good because sooner or later Mika is going to loose his tuft.

It's not the size. They have all body parts of different shapes, not just beaks. I think that's the way it should be for different sexes.
And voices at Robi and Vilnis at this age didn't differ. And later not really differed.

13:44 Milda flew out. she seemed to aim to the direction of the Fish Market.

14:05 Raimis brought a fish.


he waited for a while... but the Boss did not come.


he started to feed the kids. he was standing partly in front of them, as usual. it seemed, however that Mika was not eating less than Rika. Mika was quite behind Raimis.

14:18 feeding was over and Raimis cleaned the nest.
14:19 Rika pooped and then Mika pooped.
14:20 Raimis flew out.


both eaglets had eaten well.

15:01 Mika pooped. then he made WE and almost fell on his face. the crop is too heavy.


15:03 more WE with some jumps.
one certain jump and maybe another but his wings were in front of the legs. other "jumps" were fast steps.

15:07 they measured each others beaks.




- i guess that both smell fish in the siblings beak and wish to clean the fish away.

15:10:35 someone landed on the top? the eaglets don't look happy.
- it was an eagle.


... they relaxed. it had to be one of the parents.

15:15 Rika made WE. i think she stepped on Mika. he was not happy.

15:21:40 the bird flew away from the top. it flew over the meadow to the back.

15:22 Rika made WE. oo-wow she is big!


15:23 more WE! ooops, she stepped on Mika who cried.

15:39 two wood pigeons landed on the right side, under the nest, and drew Rika's attention.


15:51 a little bird came to work on the right side of the nest. it's impossible to say what bird it was. it pulled with difficulty a downy feather from the nest material but then dropped the feather.


when the little bird flew away Rika called in almost adult voice.
