A fresh fish for supper is super! Ivo learned his lesson today when he watched Iiris feeding the two chicks for five long minutes on the nest. :2thumbsup:
Or maybe only then he remembered from the last year what he is expected to do after the chicks have hatched.

Owlie wrote: June 5th, 2019, 6:10 pm It can look like this on an eagle nest where external cleaning service is needed  , so be happy that Ivo picks up the fish rests - not only from fish thieves ...:

That's very practical. A renewable food source...

Iiris has chirped a while, looking under her breast often - she should chirp much LOUDER so that Ivo hears - where ever he is ...

"The point" for migrating birds nesting in the Northern countries is, that we have light summers and the birds can feed their offspring more hours a day than under the equator.

Iiris took a walk and returned 22:17

22:18 - egg talk, I THINK I SAW A THIRD HEAD! - EDIT: Sorry, I am not sure though ... Anyway the egg talk is sure  I can not go to sleep yet!

No! There were still two chicks. The lighting conditions, however, could shortly gave the impression that there were already three chicks. What Iiris is taking away are not pieces of eggshell, but nest material.
I make a video.

No problem! It was not difficult, the file was still very small and the video was done quickly. In a few hours it will be done and we have three chicks... :chick:

6:17 Ivo arrives at the nest.
Iiris asked him for fish, please.
6:20 Ivo, flew off.

There has been some, Crow, activity, earlier this morning, both Ivo and Iiris, have chased it away.
It’s going to be another warm day in, Tartu.

I don’t think that Ivo, has changed, he is still his same self, caring and fishing for his family. What might have changed, is his ability to get the fish. Maybe, other activities are happening at the fishing hole. Like, competition, or that the fishing hole closes down at certain times. I don’t know. :puzzled: I do feel that everything will get better!!

06:42, entire small fish delivery by Ivo, and then he left after a minute.

Iiris has gotten much better at feeding the chicks! Small morsels delivered right to the waiting mouths. Well, sometimes too big, but usually small.

The chicks seem to have eaten all they wanted. Iiris moved the fish off to the side of the nest.

She seems to still be trying to figure out how to not slide into the nest bowl or step on the kids! At one point a few minutes ago she stepped on the little one's head for half a second! (Baby didn't seem hurt, though.)
