Re: Estonian Osprey Nest (Ivo & Iiris) 2019
7:36. Ivo returns with the fishtail.
7:37 Iiris flies off, leaving daddy, Ivo, with his chicks.
7:41 Iiris, is back.
Iiris, needs to take the fishtail, from Ivo. :)
Otherwise, Ivo, might take it with him.
7:45 Ivo, departs. It was a nice family visit!

Ivo was on the nest from 13:34. He stayed there for a long time (I don't know exactly how long, at least 13 minutes). Iiris came in between, then flew away again. Interesting situation... maybe I can make a video later...

From the morning, Iiris and the chicks did not eat crumbs.
The third egg lies, Iiris did not turn it. It is difficult to say what is happening there.
Iiris covers the chicks from the sun and does not incubate the third egg.
Ivo was absent for a long time. Then brought a small branch. He remained on the nest and also hid the chicks from the sun.
Iiris is silent.
Ivo flew away.
I do not know how long such small chicks and Iiris can stay without fish.
Dramatic situation and incomprehensible ...

There was a fish this morning and they all ate well. It's very hot so maybe no need to keep the egg warm.
I think all is fine

Kitarr, 8 hours without food.
Is it critical or not for babies?
Irma fed almost every hour little by little.
just observations:
the first two chicks - Iiris turned over constantly the eggs when there were holes .. The third egg she does not look after him at all and does not turn over.
The temperature of the incubation should be around 40 degrees. Air temperature below this threshold.

There used to be a fish farm in the neighbourhood, so no problem for Ivo to bring a fresh juicy fish in 8 hours.

look, please, who has good eyes - is the beak in the hole moving or not?
all
Thanks for reports and pics.
I guess yesterday egg talk must have been false alarms, as nothing is happening today with the egg. Hope the sounds were not true, otherwise it could have meant a chick who didn't manage to hatch. It might also have been the chicks chirping - their chirp in that age reminds of egg talk.
I think it would be very important to get fish continuously in hot weather - chicks and adults, too, get their needed liquid in the fish. Iiris has not yet shown same action that Irma used: endless, very demanding calling for fish, as long as they had chicks before fledging - after fledging also Irma brought fish to the chicks. Hope Ivo becomes more independent and takes own initiatives with the deliveries!

Good to see Ivo with a fresh fish
@Sappheira
Not sure what's going on with the egg.
I don't think an egg needs to be turned in the final stage before hatch.
I trust the instinct of the birds.
All we can do is wait and see

We have nothing left to do but trust their instinct and observe.
But the memory of past years does not coincide with the reality of this season.
Hence the concern.
But we can do nothing but write down what we see.
The egg with the hole - Iiris and Ivo constantly turned.
This egg is completely ignored by their attention.
