Hi girls, are you able to watch this cam? I am entering chat room after some days... clicking on the last post and then rolling slowly up to the top of the last site... and I read something bad about "small one"... and I stop immediately.

I cant even read what you have posted here.

You have nerves of steel. Really. probably not all of you are women, but still... I am amazed by your ability to watch Spotted Eagle nests when 2 eggs are hatched.
So I wish you very interesting watching. From my heart.

I feel sorry. I need to wait until another season when we ll have only one chick in the nest.

Lubaska, it is hard to see, but ornitholgically interesting. Last year the second chick did not hatches.
I do not post photos of the hard attacks.

Don´t forget that eagles are birds of prey. What is about the prey they hunt?

Lubaska, I am not able to follow the life of Tiiu and Tönn, even though they are my favorite couple because as I wrote earlier in my heart hurts. I am thinking that so everything what happens to nature and the life of the birds ,we have no right to ever intervene. I am only reading this webcam forum and keep my finger cross and hope that the little one bird can live!

I only watch now and then and scroll back to see what happened.
I was glad to see that the small chick ate a lot and heartily around 19:40 ('eating like a docker'). It swallowed big chunks of food. Also happy to see that Tiiu kept feeding and even persisted in giving food to the little one even when it could eat no more.
Very different from other times when he only got a few morsels although he kept calling for more. It is all a mystery to me but I am glad of this change. Hopefully Tiiu will continue to feed him and he will grow bigger than his (her) sibling. We will se what tomorrow brings.

it is raining and a very wet Tiiu covers the chicks.
I just hear, it is a thunderstorm.

Tiiu flies away. The big chick is yawning and stretching. The small doesn´t move.

Well, at 8:49 it is still alive. It lifted its head up when Tiiu came back to the nest. It was calling continuously until mum finally covered it. She covered big one first but apparently waits for the small one to crawl to her.
Now, 10:03 kids are still under Tiiu. I hear the small one calling now and then.
10:04 Tiiu leaves. Kid is calling.

10:07 big attacks small again. Kid manages to crawl away quickly. He is calling all the time.

11.38 Chicks alone in the nest. The younger chicken on the right side of the nest, it almost fell out of the nest!


11.41 Junior creeps up to the elder, the eldest beats him very cruelly, not letting them crawl away.
11.47 Tiiu returns. Tõnn flies in with the loot (I did not understand what he brought.) He flies away.


Tiiu eats herself, then feeds the older one, who is cruelly trying to crack down on the younger one. The youngest chick is trying to crawl away.
