22:44 Miks was standing on the left branch and reached down to pull Rika's tail feathers. :rotf:

then Miks jumped down to the nest and started to make WE.

22:46 Miks pooped.

i made some pictures from today, I assume Rika is on the left and Mika on the right? :puzzled:

Crissy :hi: Good photos!
At Rika the pointed joint. At Mika rounded off.

In the put position of a tail at Mika one strip on the center is visible. At Rika it is visible white, even when it costs sideways to the camera.
It is difficult to catch beaks in one foreshortening therefore it is simpler to compare them in the movement. I will make a photo later.

the principle with the nest cameras is not to interfere the life of the birds in any way (other than ringing the chicks). there have been some exception. for example last year at the second Latvian WTE nest the younger eaglet fell out of the nest too early. he was also famished (it was a bad fishing year). then Janis Kuze collected the eaglet Knips from under the nest and he was taken to an aviary. it was considered necessary, otherwise Knips would have perished.
... but in this case, Rika: i don't believe that anyone will interfere. firstly: we don't even know if there is anything wrong, and secondly: it's very probable that nothing is wrong. she'll be fine.

...

ps. when you want to quote someone's post click the quotation mark in the top right corner of the post which you want to quote.
i corrected the first quotation. i hope you don't mind.[/size]
Ame, thank you for correcting my quotation - I don't mind at all, I only mind that I cannot quote correctly. I hope I get it right this time - otherwise, please correct me again.

Thank you for your optimism - it helped me a lot during days of Mika going to bed hungry. It was reassuring to read that you thought he would be strong enough, and indeed he was. So may it be the same with Rika - today at any rate her exercises seemed much livelier. What has changed also, it seems to me, is that she seems to avoid confrontations with Mika. Sonchik recently wrote about one scene that "she was cringing with fear". That was perhaps ironic, but I, too, had the impression that she was baffled by Mikas fury (he was shouting at her) and held back rather than put him into his place. But there may be all sorts of reasons other than lack of strength.

Anyway, thank you for the discussion! And as for the principle of non-interfering: I very well understand that. It seems to me respectful to nature taking its course, even if that may sometimes be excruciatingly hard to watch.

 Rika had taken his bed. he wanted to get it back.

Miks is sleeping in his bed with head under the wing, lying on the nest
Rika was sleeping standing up in adult style, with head under wing. then she woke up to preen a little.

good night! :offtobed:

Very interesting thoughts, thank you, Sonchik. As I said in my first post, it is absolutely exhilarating what one gets to learn here!

In the center of a photo everything looks more than at the edges. On the first photo of a leg of eaglets seem the identical size. It means that Rika at the left.
On the second photo of a leg of Rika look more though it also is farther from the camera than Mika. It is because she in the center.
Milda's legs seem absolutely small.

Image Image

Compared Mika and Raimis's legs at the same time.

Mika can show a dark tail. Rick so is not able. Always it is visible white, including tips.

Use of all signs in total lets know where who.
I will continue later.

7:24 Another fish by Raimis. A headless fish.. Raimis is eating the fish bladder

7:25 Milda comes and Raimis escapes. I think Raimis wanted to feed the kids.

7:26 Milda is feeding her little ones :innocent: BTW: I love it when they feed their big kids :D

7:31 Milda is eating a fishtail
7:33 I think Rika is eating the other fish tail .. I'm not sure :puzzled: A wind gust, I saw her tail. It was she

When Milda came to the nest, there were still two pieces of the fish in the nest.
