7:01 an interesting bird flew over the nest. both eaglets looked at it.
7:02 a bird called father in the forest. i think it was a black woodpecker. there's no guarantee that this bird was the same which flew over the nest a little earlier.

7:24 Raimis brought the third fish. he began to feed.
he left when Milda came.
Ajeta later wrote that the fish vanished when Raimis left.

Raimis did take the fish with him! :2thumbsup:
good old Raimis! he was making this trick many times when they were dating. :rotf:

Milda continued feeding both with what was left of the previous fish.

When Raimis left earlier (upon Milda's arrival) the big fish he had brought at 7:24 was no longer at the place (directly under the camera) where Raimis held it to feed Mika and eat himself. So either it dropped when Raimis left or he took it with him. I could not identify sounds of falling, so I assume Raimis who was obviously hungry took it away with him. When he returned he brought the tail of (presumably) that fish. His crop was now so big that he might well have eaten the fish he originally brought at 7:24. At any rate, Milda only fed those left over parts of the two fish brought in the morning which the eaglets had only half eaten. Plus one fish tail brought by Raimis at 7:36.

(I tried to insert a photo of the crop here which could be seen very well when Raimis leaves, but it did not work. Sorry!)

Well spotted
Raimis took the fish and flew away with it
That was no intention. He stood on top of this fish and his claws did not open as he flew away :rotf:

A big shock for him. His boss is coming and he had eaten from the fish (the fish bladder) He was feeding the eaglet, as Milda came in.

12:21 eaglet is a bit screaming. I can not see, why :puzzled:

12:25 Rika :innocent: I have the feeling she needs space for herself. She does it after Mika sits down.

Thank you, yes, after my failed attempt at inserting I looked around in the forum a bit (should have done before trying) and found some posts about that. So I have to explore the photohosting business with which I am not at all familar. Learning something new every day

Indeed he held the fish fast in his claw. Whether intention or not, he made good use of this chance by eating the fish himself to strengthen himself for the next hunting spree. Poor Milda though, she probably got least of them all.

Indeed, and did you not write the other day that Mika had yet to learn to eat on a branch and would then be able to lead an independent life? At 4:31 he is doing some practice "eating on a branch" (first level so to speak). :2thumbsup:
