Large rodent brought, again by Magnus.

Eaglet does not eat it yet. Saves it between its feet.

Thanks, Timea! Maia still hasn't been to the nest?

19:36 Magnus with a large prey that is already opened and ready for eating. Eaglet takes it right away.

As far as I have seen only Magnus, 3 times. Maybe Maia is more cautious because of the ringing?

It is great that Magnus is so reliable. The eaglet has had 4 good meals today, if I counted right.

Maia may leave for a few days, as it happened in 2012 in Koit and Eha nest. Eha flew away, did not show up for several days and when she was back, the eaglet Kalev was very angry at her. It was very sad to watch.

See, there I go, I only counted 3 since ringing. Did it get a prey before ringing?

Yes. Magnus brought a rodent at 7:18 in the morning.
It is on page 48, but there was much exitement with the ringing afterwards.

Ulo V wrote: July 17th, 2019, 9:45 pm Hey,
I will visit the nest tomorrow morning, about 10 am (Estonian time), ring the chick and clear the view. Sorry for letting you to peek the nest through the branch for so long time. Should I also turn the microphone towards Tartu? (https://www.metallica.com/events/2019-0 ... tonia.html) :innocent:
Thank you, Ulo, for a remarkable ringing. We love to watch how professionally ringers can ring the young birds. Always a great experience for us. :loveshower:

Yes, I was thinking about the same thing. First night alone. She seems a bit nervous, listening and looking around all the time. Let's hope Maia will be home tomorrow.

Have a good night, everyone! :offtobed:
