our 3 lovely osprets - and Iiris on dead tree sees it all -perhaps very proudly-

she found a remain fish and is eating, while UM and UN are preening their plumage


14:04 Iiris on dead tree calls alert and immediately all 3 go flat on the place where they just have been - very obedient


14:04 UM, who was laying a bit further away, crawled flat on the ground forward to the girls, that's very smart, stay close together

We seem to have lost all of our camera streams.
We have tried to get information about it, but the best reply I have had so far is
"I have no idea". but maybe EEnet is still recovering its camera links.

The happy news today: UJ fledged and landed back safely to the nest Kalakotkas1. Miina followed and supported UJ.

UM took it and worked on the poor, alive carp.

Good morning!

At 9:33 Iiris came to the nest and jumped on the camstand

10:20 Ivo brings a fresh fish, Iiris starts eating and feeding

Both parents flew in, Ivo with a fish - UM claimed it

11:40 - 11:45 there was an exemplary demonstration of how excellently Ivo and Iiris work together to drive out an intruder and protect the kids

Warnings could be heard by both parents, the osprets responded obediently immediately and went flat. Iiris flew to the nest for protection, Ivo could be heard from the surrounding.
Iiris and the kids were seen looking up to the sky, when the probably intruder and Ivo must have been flying over the nest.
Iiris admonished the children again, "stay down and do not move" and the children obeyed.
Then a bit further in the upper right corner a big bird -most likely an adult osprey, possibly a female ?- was seen beeing chased by Ivo. (My impression, surely i couldn't identify them).

One hour long the poor osprets had to stay down, only UM stood up sometimes, the girls kept laying flat, panting. UP sometimes lifted her head, but UN almost did not move. Iiris flew off the dead tree twice, always calling alert and giving instruction to the kids to go flat or keep down.

The alarm continued alternating until 12:44, when Ivo arrived on top of the dead tree. Iiris flew into the nest and Ivo immediately took off to fly to nest with the fish in his claws (looks like a pike ?).
