Lussi. I was not here all the time. Did she not get smaller prey? Has she not eaten at all?

I have not been here all the time eather, so I don`t know. The two deliveries I have seen, she has not been eaten. Mary Jane wrote that she ate a rodent at 5:56, and then again at 8:14, and a few pieces a little later, so she has been eating.
16:37 - She is trying another prey now, a mouse, and she is getting pieces from it. Learning by doing

16:44 - Maia arrives with prey, she taste it herself, and then she feeds a hungry eaglet.
Maia is also eating, they are both quite hungry!
16:50 - A new prey from the nest is on the menu.

Never realised before LSE's don't have featherless legs like many other birds. Eaglet's rings go over its feathers. And near the foot feathers are peeking out from under the rings.

Magnus brings evening snack for Eaglet
It is "open" so Eaglet can try and eat it herself.

With so much back light it is a matter of guessing, but it looked and sounded as if a parent brought food, which Eaglet could swallow.

Thank you all so much! I have been away the whole day and it is so good to read and see what has been happening on the nest.

Eaglet is looking up at Maia, who bends forward and touches Eaglet's beak with her beak.
Some sort of endearments? I like to think so.
And with that thought I like to say Good Night to all :-)))

Great pictures, Timea. The one with Magnus bringing the rodent is so clear!
