15:44 Iiris brings half a fish, UM grabs it.

14:36 Ivo delivered fish for the family. Iiris began to feed the kids but suddenly at 14:42 left with the fish. She returned with the rest of fish only at 15:43. Are these the remains of the 14:36 fish or did she go fishing herself and brought a fresh one?

I tried to get a closer picture of the 14:36 fish, i can't say if it is the same (kind) but i tend to say yes.

18:03 Ivo delivers another still alive fish, UN seems (sounds) hungry and UP and UM are not that interested so this one is for UN


18:14 Iiris brings a new stick onto the nest

18:30 UN finished eating so now UP takes over. Still a lot of fish left.
UM is preening

18:51 Iiris calls alarm in the distance, chicks go flat on the nest.
18:54 UM gets up again followed by UP who continues eating

All three of them ate the 18:03 fish for two hours! Then they got tired and requested mummy to lend a hand (a leg ) with the fish tail part. Iiris was glad to help her kids and it was quickly finished up so that Ivo could bring a very fresh and juicy fish at 20:18.
What catering they have!

21:11. It is great that we get to watch the chicks tearing apart and eating their fish. I feel like I’m right there with them, when they are in front of the camera.
Their squeals are so sweet. :) It’s like baby talk. But birds. ;)

The UP and UN have been squealing a long time non stop.
UM was standing on the rails showing them his back, looking at the surroundings of the nest, dreaming of exploring this wild world around, and i sometimes had the impression he might think "oh dear, those girlies never stop talking"

UM is working hard at the tough fish skin. He certainly will not give it up.

Summi, yes, they are spoiled by Ivo's and Iiris' catering service.


19:59 UN requested - awwww, those eyes....


20:01 ....and Mummy came, glad to help
and the girls were happy to be fed with the remained fishtail part by Iiris


UM eyed at the feeding and joined 9 min later
20:14 but he did get no bite - the two girls have been too greedy - and he didn't share "his" fish with them, in the contrary, he pecked at both when they were asking for a bite


and the fishtail claimed UN for herself, it was "her" fish ;)
UM once tried to take it, but UN said "no" and defended it.

just in time Ivo flies in with a big headless fish


20:19 Iiris jumped down to nest, Ivo flew off - and UP picks up the fish

20:27 UN picked up again her fishtail and manages to swallow it
and UP is eating "her" fresh fish


20:33 UP enjoys having a fish now for her own


20:47 UM came to take the fish but UP, too pecked at him - this is my fish,
you didn't share yours and pecked at us


and so they learn to defend their fish

The chicks are truly adorable right now and these are our last few days of having them all on the nest, 24 hours a day. Soon they will be flying in and out.

I have to mention that the chicks have finally grown into their feet size.

Good morning everyone
4:50 the first catering service in the form of fish by Super Fisherman himself.
7:00 the next fish

balistar, many thanks for illustrating yesterday's nest life by pics.
Soon we'll see them much less and every funny and cute episode that is recorded either by comments or by pics is precious.

This is the 7:00 fish story.

7:00 fish is very much alive and jumps here and there. Iiris hurries to help them but UM, who managed to get it, is not willing to let the fish go. At last UP gets the fish and starts eating. At 7:22 UN takes it over and at 7:30 UM is happy to get the remains.
7:31 UM is still eating and there she is - Iiris, the FisherLady, lands with the absolutely fresh fish! and starts feeding UN. UP is watching how the feeding goes on.
I wonder if they can fly with such full crops and stomachs.

9:49 UP has transformed into a great tit, please balistar or anyone else, make a pic of her with a feather floating. Beautiful!
