Hi Uta,

it could be even a German osprey, look here at the examples of German osprey ring codes (click pictures to enlarge)
https://www.cr-birding.org/node/2856

You could use the contact data from there to ask for more infos, sending pictures and the video link to Dr. Daniel Schmidt

Hi Uta,

ouh, what a pity ---- it´s holiday time in Germany

But I would use the online form on the internet page of Beringungszentrale Hiddensee, maybe you are lucky and will get a quicker reply from there.
And I would repeat the mail to Dr. Daniel Schmidt after 08-26-19

Good luck!

Hi Uta :hi:

Many thanks for your infos here, they are very valuable.
I took many screenshots in different sizes and recorded videos in normal tempo and slo mo and I'm going to send it to Germany because I'm quite sure that the guest was just a German male.
I at once found data and rings' photos, and e-mail on the cr-birding site, known me earlier.
I am sure it is an adult male just started his migration to Africa for wintering.
He stopped here today for fishing, I think, he had a very nice, full crop after nice breakfest / lunch :2thumbsup:

Hi Bea
Thank you very much for the name of Dr. Daniel Schmidt.
I wait for him after Aug 26 and then will write an e-mail.
I'm curious where exactly is the male from, how old is he, where is his present nest, had he a family and so on.
I think he flew in here from Brandenburg, which is full of excellent lakes and waters and it is the closer Land to Barlinek.

Hi SilverGirl :hi:

Wish you all good luck to find out more about this handsome visitor :D

The likelihood, that it is a German osprey, is rather big, for my opinion (ring looks like it).
Migration has started and he could be on his route South, but heading a bit East first.

I hope you all will let us know about the result.

I saw this Osprey also and tried to get clear view of rings.
It seems that he also had a white or silver ring on his right leg.

Another guest in Barlinek (PL), this time without a wedding ring.
Movie from the first visit today.

Edit:
And the next two visits of this osprey at 9:49 and 10:30.
This time he was chased away, probably by Barlinek
