I was right. It is the wing of an hawk. There are many jays around in this morning. They are playing with the hawk?

i think so: it seemed that the jays were teasing the sparrow hawk.
i think that the birds who flew first from the right starting from 7:55 were jays, too.
mega2 has made a picture of one of the birds. that is a jay.

first the jays were probably fleeing away from the hawk. i guess that they are careful with the sparrowhawk although jays are bigger than the hawk. they also have teased the hawk.

7:59 - 8:02 i'm almost certain that the jays were having fun with the poor hawk.
there were sooo many jays.

8:22 mega2 spotted the sparrowhawk again. the jay scared some tits (i heard their voices).
soon many jays flew after the hawk the nest tree. the hawk flew away, probably the jays on her tail.

there have been so many jays around this morning that i shall not make videos of all of them, only if something interesting happens.

8:56 jays visiting again. no! a sparrowhawk flew first to the left branch. after her a jay flew to the right branch. this time the jay was alone and he wasn't too brave.


8:58 again. i think that the sparrowhawk flew to the top. then a jay came and the hawk chased the jay!. yes, tables had turned.

9:33:about 20 more cries. these fragments sounded like a fish song.

i made a video with two long stretches. both are mostly wind but the eaglet(s) voices are there in between. some are probably missing, too, but this gives an idea of how long the episode was. i believe that it was a feeding.

10:05 a bird flew by from the right side of the swan pond to the left and right after that an eaglet's voice started. the eaglet flew by and far again, crying on its way.
i cannot say what bird flew by first, not even if it was an eagle or not. there were a lot of jay's voice, too. perhaps it was the eaglet who was crying. the was a flying eaglet's voice at the same time after all.

i had a wrong video first, sorry! two cups of coffee was not enough this morning.

i think that the lens is rather dirty. - Janis wrote that he is planning to purchase a new camera. i think that this camera will work fine somewhere else after the lens has been wiped with some cleaner. the lens must be very dusty and dirty although the eaglets missed it.

The first scream of the eagle was heard at 6:47.
At 7:37, 4 birds soared to the top.

Sonchik, those birds at 7:37 sounded like wood pigeons, or actually their wings sounded like wood pigeon's wings.

i was off-line for a while and just got back online. maybe they have called for a longer time.
Biruta Lapa heard eaglet's voices at 14:00, 14:28 and 14:54.
i found a call 14:01 so that was a bit inaccurate. i think it was Rika.
14:28 i think that Rika called again. then Miks called loud and flew by from the direction of the swan pond to the right.


14:54 Miks called and Rika replied. Miks was much louder than Rika. maybe Rika was calling against the wind.


15:07:03 an eaglet called. about 30 s later again.
the first sounded like Miks but the second like Rika??
