The chat wrote that at 19:23 the eagle flew to the right. I don 't see that. I see a bird on the left branch. I hear eagle screams. https://youtu.be/ma0JvhcMplY
which 'yesterday' do you mean? i suppose you meant Sep 15th. i think that both parents sang at 6:48.

on Sep 16th both parents called in the afternoon at 16:08, Raimis first and Milda started after he had started. her voice was louder.

Sep 16th at 19:23 someone flew by crying. it sounded like Miks. i can't see anyone but it can be heard how the eaglet flis by.
i made a video of this event and posted it here:

6:41 (almost) Miks called.
6:49 again.
6:51 onward Miks called and cried many times till 7:18. i think i heard only Miks, no Rika's calls at all this morning.
i also heard Raimis calling several times. it sounded like he was closer to the nest than Miks.
6:51 Raimis. at this point Miks started crying. his cries didn't actually sound like a "i have a fish"-song, but rather like "i see a parent"- or "i want a fish"-song.
6:55 Raimis
6:59 Raimis
7:01 Milda first and Raimis joined her.
7:04 Miks called farther than earlier. he went on calling...
7:07 Liz saw the bird flying by. i can't say either what bird it was. a crow called at the same time but he stayed in the same place somewhere near.
7:18 jays visited the nest tree. there were at least two of them but there may have been more.

7:19 - 7:35 Miks continued calling and crying. at times it sounded like he was flying.

7:37 the jay with the acorn visited. Liz made pictures of this (too). - the Sun was shining in the eyes at this time of the morning.

8:14 a bird flew from the top of the spruce on the right to the top of the nest tree. i think it was one of the crows who then made a visit.
the first went to the right branch. he started to work with a small stick there and managed to cut it off. then he dropped it. Raimis has worked two years with that branch and now this crow made almost more than Raimis has done in a much longer time. :rotf:
Image

after this also the second nest inspector came down to the left branch. after the had diagnosed the state of the nest they flew away.

8:35 Miks called far.

8:36 Milda flew to the left branch. she looked at the nest for a while. then she went to the top branch.
(i made videos, too, although Liz made hers. hers is certainly much more sophisticated than mine so if you have seen it there's no need to watch mine. i make mine for my archive.)

8:43 Milda came down to the left branch, looked at the nest and jumped down. she went directly to the microphone and started to pull it up as far as the cable allowed (which was not very far). she started to tear and peel the poor microphone. she threw away some chips but the microphone didn't stop working.
now the manufacturer may advertise that their products are eagle-proof.
while Milda was busy with the microphone Miks called and cried in the forest. i think he must have know where Milda was but he didn't come. that is a bit odd. Milda seemed to know where Miks was.
after Milda lost her interest in the microphone she started preening herself. she is still moulting: small feather blew out of her plumage.

9:07 Miks went on calling in the forest. Milda flew away to the back and disappeared in the forest on the right side of the swan pond.

9:30 - 9:50 Miks cried far in the forest. he sounded still unhappy, being probably without fishie. :puzzled:
a fiedfare was somewhere quite near and talking a long time, but stayed out of sight.

10:32 Sonchik heard eaglet's cries (reported later). the eaglet was far and difficult to hear because of the wind.

it has rained quite a long time. there's almost no wind.
i don't know if it because of the lack of wind but the microphone seems to make better sounds now after Milda's treatment than it did earlier.
12:01 barn swallow voices.

Labdien!
Sazvanījos ar Jāni Ķ. mikrofona sakarā. Protams, ka vislabāk būtu šovakar aizbraukt un viņu nostiprināt zemāk, kur putni netiek klāt, bet šobrīd Jānim nav tādas iespējas. Kādu nedēļu būs jāgaida un jācer, ka neviens no putniem nepievērsīsies mikrofonam /kas gan maz ticams/.
GT:
I called Janis K. about microphone connection. Of course, it would be best to go tonight to safe the microphone, if no birds are present, but at the moment Janis has no opportunity. We have to wait one week and hope that none of the birds will touch the microphone / which is unlikely

Yes. I didn't notice a new day had already begun.
Thank you for the answer. I like it when they sing together. I see some subtext in this.

Last year Milda chewed on the microphone too. Raimis showed little interest in him. Rika and this is similar to the Milda.

At 10:32, a fish song.
