I like not these areas with mud - I read yesterday about very young Poland stork who died here

"Black Stork 186T - Beit She'an Valley April 2019.
edit: Hana, can this stork be from the project ptaki sileziana?

It is very sad

Solo, I'm sorry, Ptaki silesiana removed all dead storks from the map. And I don't have last year's map. But I think the black storks here had a rings starting with the letter N plus a two-digit number ... I tried to find something but failed.
(By the way already 3.9. I sent a question by e-mail to Ptaki silesiana for a black stork shot in Poland, but no one answered )

Hana,
I was just curious if that stork was from the project - we know the basic information - ring 186T, the stork was marked a year ago (2018) in northwestern Poland and made the distance of about 2500 km

thanx for all your effort :2thumbsup:

I also think that the BS N45 died, there is still a signal from one field. It's just strange that nobody found a transmitter in the field. Or nobody goes to the field?

POLAND

BOCZ07 Žólty (Yellow) hatched 2017

previous info: viewtopic.php?p=698396#p698396
(on October 23 rd at 12:59 near the Serbian-Bulgarian border)

Yellow has changed its route and is in Bulgaria above the Maritsa River. The last positions are after noon at the Luda Yana River and an hour later from the field.
Where will he fly next?
Last year he spent the winter in Greece and a year earlier, I think, in the north of Saudi Arabia.

The * yellow * is not so far ... soon he is in * holiday * ... but, he is a bit strayed from the way. :D
:hi: Sova,
yes, he wandered into Bulgaria. It will be interesting to see where he flies. It does not seem to be Greece this year...

Hello everyone

POLAND

BOCZ05 CHRIS

After more than two weeks we know that Chris is all right.

On October, 9th he stayed in the Ouadai region, on October, 10th he moved to the Sila region to the Batha River and still the same day he flew to the Salamat region (in the southeast of Chad). Here he rested by the rivers and lakes (in the area of about 20 x 20 km) north of the town of Am Timan until October, 24th. Now he changed direction and flies west.

Am Timan is a city in Chad and is the capital of the region of Salamat. Am Timan is also known as Dabengat in Chad, which mean the resources of the products. Most of economy comes from Salamat region. Such as fish, vegetables ....

Solo, there is the answer from M.S.
It is ringed last year in Latvia by me so it is a picture of an immature bird – very good one and so valuable; as for the ringing recovery/record I would kindly ask you to ask owner of the picture precise location (coordinates, please!) of the sighting, context (= precise or approximate estimate on number of other storks in that pond) and precise time (up to a minute) of that shot (should be in original exif file of picture) – if bird has been there for a longet time period, then please both dates + time from-to.

If owner accepts, I’d be pleased to receive original size picture(s) where bird is in possibly perfect profile (this one is good but may be some other are better) for use in sex determination analysis. Picture credit guarrantied and any public use would be agreed with owner if that would be desired.

EDIT: In the meantime I will calculate age o that bird and other parameters – it is not done for last year’s ringed juveniles.

Now it is deleted on FB - Shai Blitzblau has logged off his page. :puzzled:
EDIT: I'm in contact with Shai now. Tomorrow I get what Maris need. That's great! The photographer (Avi) is part of the research station!

Liz, thanx very much
we know nothing more basically (age, place/nest area, ...) , but we know Maris' requirements, the requirements of scientists in such situations :2thumbsup:
