CNIG17 IS ALIVE :loveshower:
...
Such surprises are nice surprises :2thumbsup:

Polish female CNIG15
is one of two Polish black storks, who remains in Europe so far (also BOCZ07 Žólty = Greece). She flies in the south of Italy in the province of Catanzaro, often by the Lese River.
The weather is there favorable, with daily temperatures between 17-19 ° C.
I wonder if she will spend the winter there or fly further south, to warm Africa.
I'm also very curious what happens ... if he still flies away
Thanks for all the news

Hana and all
There are three major wintering areas in West Africa:
Western Territory: East Mauritania, Senegal and West Mali with the Senegal River system
Central area with the Niger Delta
Eastern Territory with South and East Burkina Faso, West and Southwest Niger, Western Nigeria, North Togo and North Ghana.

Since 1990, 3000 individuals were counted per season on the western route
70% of the frequented areas are protected areas. 10 national parks and other protected areas :2thumbsup:

POLAND

CNIG04

Info from FB Rings Reporting - The Israeli Plant Center:
Black Stork 17C7 Tel Yosef Pools, 27/10/2019. Samuel London's observation and report. The stork has a yellow-violet GPS transmitter on the other leg.
He is from Poland.

and video (london5042): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i87WrVrWy3c

It must be CNIG04 :headroll:

Image

The only discrepancy is one digit in the ring number - 17C7 is in the photo from Israel and 16C7 is in the description CNIG04. According to the picture at CNIG04, it looks like they were ringing two chicks in th nest of Augustów, but only one got a GPS transmitter. It could happen that ring Nr. 16C7 were given to the storklet without transmitter and Nr.17C7 to the storklet with transmitter. (I also wrote a question to Mrs. dr. Zawadzka, who gave the rings in Augustów, but I don't know if I get the answer.)

November 5th.

Good Morning Hana and all :hi:

thank you for the great update :2thumbsup:

these are great news about the storklet 17C7 . :loveshower:
But the links of yours lead to closed groups, or else, the pictures have been removed. There is nothing to see. Unfortunately.

There are new data by the Makov storklet 19126 Ciconia nigra (1K M). It is still in the same area.
Image

If I have time today, I try to find the place in google maps. Makov does not zoom so well and there are hardly any location hints.

About Mare
She was also in 2017 and 2018 for a long time without data.
The last data in 2017 were 25.10.2017
new data 20.12.2017 !
That are almost 2 months. I have to be patient :whistling:
