11:43:about 15 a big bird flew by far on the sky. the wingbeat was slow so it was a big bird, perhaps an eagle or a buzzard. i heard buzzard voices earlier and also later. (or a jay was imitating a buzzard. they were also present.)
these pictures are taken 1 s apart from each other.
Image

11:43:30 a raven flew by very near. they had been around for a while.
there were perhaps only two ravens, but possibly more. one of them flew to the top of the spruce on the right. he gave quite a concert there before he flew away. then they/he flew around for some more time before flying away.

Image

12:28:30 a light rather big bird flew by under the nest.
this was not an eagle, and it's not a jay. i can't say who it was. a buzzard? :puzzled:
Image

the raven flew away.

12:29:50 a raven flew by the top.
12:30 two ravens flew by. they flew by again and landed on the spruce on the right, the other on the top and the other a little lower.

... some more calls but from far.
12:37 one was calling closer again. ...then no more voices.

I noticed that the LK is having some problems today.
EDIT: it happened in other threads as well.

how are you processing your videos? what is your method to search deliveries?
is there any way i could help?
i have the same goal: to record every delivery.
There's no problem finding deliveries. The problem is cutting out boring moments. It takes a lot of hours. :slap:
Your descriptions and Liz's are very helpful in remembering what happened almost a month ago. It's also a pleasure, I always laugh reading descriptions.
Thanks!

There were a lot of birds. At 12:28:03, 12:28:12, 12:28:18, 12:28:28. In the second half of the video, I showed all the birds close.

12:27 Raven and others.

the thing at 15:48 was probably some sort of an insect.
there was no bird.

Raimis skipped his 4 pm appointment with us. :whistling:

what program are you using for editing the videos?
i use Solveig AVI Trimmer. that is not very slow. i also use it to take frame-by-frame snapshots. i think it is faster than running the video with Potplayer and taking frame-by-frame pictures with P-player. it's also easier and faster to find the interesting parts with Solveig than with P-player. the advantage of P-player is that it has slow motion and fast forward.

strange things happen if posts disappear! :puzzled:

I'm using YouTube.
Long to watch the video and choose what to delete.
If the eagles spent 5 hours a day in the nest and I look at x2 speeds, it's still 2.5 hours. You can't watch faster, you can miss interesting things. It takes a few more minutes to mark the pieces of video to cut. It's still taking time to publish. It turns out to be about 3 hours.
When the eagles are present short - lived, it is easier. But they're very workable this year. 8-)

Thanks for the beatiful pics from this morning! The squirrel on the branch and the woodpecker on the "shining* ladder" to the LB.
*The standing branch is shining in the dark 8-)

It's so good to see them bringing bigger branches and logs this year.
I'm sure it comes from their experience or from being more confident in themselves.
Because they are bringing it from the same source, same forest with the same trees.
So the change comes from them this time. :2thumbsup:

Let's hope that kids will respect the nest this season so parents will have a longer vacation next year

:slap: I wrote it in the morning and found it now on the computer... I have too many things on my head.

oh dear, that sounds rather unpractical. :slap:
i think that it might be worth-while to try Solveig. it's very simple. even i can use it.
Mutikluti first told us about it:
viewtopic.php?p=439826#p439826
i have written some advice about it later. i think these posts should be found if one uses search word "Solveig".
edit: using Solveig means of course that you will have to record everything beforehand and edit the recording afterwards. one can not use Solveig on the Y-tube stream.
