The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Port Lincoln Ospreys

Both youngsters are fledglings yet. :2thumbsup: I guess Star fledged yesterday. Nice close ups from Dad.

Morning all, I guess Star didn't return over night, haven't rewound yet to check. Will go out in the dinghy later this morning to see if she is around on another boat.

Know someone about Star at the Port Lincoln nest?
Since Star is fledged I only see Calypso with the parents there, also during the nights.
I really hope she is fine.

Star is dead, most probably. She has not been seen since.

A fledgling cannot sustain himself and
will have to come back to the nest to be fed in any case.

Really very sad, just now I watched their FB- side. Poor Star was not seen since she fledged (there was heavy wind in these days).
Calypso was often so dominant and attacked her massive, she had to wait for her share during feedings. Fly free little osprey girl.

The owl brought a mouse to the nest and ate it.

Then she perched on the lookout. After a while another GHO came to the nest.
Image

She was squealing and jumped on the lookout too.It looks like, that she chased the parent away.
the GHO pooped

and flew away

A Red-tailed Hawk lands on the perch and is followed in by a juvenile Northern Harrier.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
