Good Morning!

Liz, Only "stormy"? This is a small word... It's really hard and the sound is terrible.
We need a stronger word for it... :slap: :headroll:

Hei

Really dreadful weather indeed
One long stick is hanging loosely on the edge of the nest on the right.

This nest has endured many strong winds and nasty weather conditions with no remarkable damage, good work Milda and Raimis

that stick has been swinging there for weeks. it seems to be balanced on a lower right branch.
i'm glad that the nest is tested in a weather like this before there are eggs or chicks.

i also made a short clip of the storm.

it's getting dark... the wind is not as strong as in the morning. the horizon stays approximately level and doesn't disappear on one side like in the morning.

no-one has been around all day. if some little birds have tweeted nearby i haven't heard it over the roaring wind.
i have turned the volume down because the wind has been so loud. :slap:

Looduskalender made an article explaining, why the site was down several times. Since the article is available in english aswell, that will spare from GT chaotic translation

thank you Crissy for letting us know!

22:19:50 a tawny owl male started calling. the wind is not too loud to hear the calls.
- - - i think there are two males who are calling to each other. one is like an echo to the other.

This branch was brought by Milda on November 15. At 3:25 in the video. It's a whole tree with branches. Milda struggled for a long time but could not defeat the branch. :slap: At the end of the video, the tree branch assumed its current position. She hugged the spruce branches with her branches and can't fall, I think.

Ame, do you have a recording on January 11 at 15:23?
I don't have, but I saw a big bird flying in the top right corner at this time.

8:39 swans can be heard

After this stormy weather, R & M will need food. Maybe they're at the fish market now. :shake:

good morning!

what a strange feeling: no wind. :whistling:

thank you Sonchik!
you seem to know every stick 'personally'.
i think i have video of that bird. it will take some time to find it.
- yes i have the video. i usually keep my recordings for two days, at least.
i can't say what bird it was, only that it was not a little bird.
it flew by and disappeared so quickly that it probably was not very big either.

edit: i found another bird flying by later on Saturday afternoon (Jan 11) at 16:16. this was a raven. he flew by from the right towards the meadow where he curved back to the right.

i'm checking the recordings from last night. it was steadily windy, with no gusts. one seldom sees such uniform and constant noise from this camera. the 'soundtrack' (the thick blue line under the picture) is thick and flat, and has almost no dips at all. the thickness corresponds to the intensity of the sound. normally the 'soundtrack' looks like a blade of a saw.
