Visitor is coming too close, T49 shows immediately what he thinks of that
That looks like a T20

Patience level is Zero when another nosy vulture comes for a visit
The visitor had rings, but I saw no wing label

K74 is coming in for incubation shift at high noon. She is bringing a little bit of new nest material with her and of course it takes a while until she has the "right" order on the nest for settling down

We are on hatch watch on this nest! Chick can hatch any hour/day now.
10:40
Dad T49 puts his head deep in the nestbowl and checks things going on there
Wing stretch
Laying down again, but I have the impression that he is not laying down completely, like he does usually, as if he wants to let some space for somebody

Cam operator made a zoom out from the nest place, what an impressive vicinity
So, now I am sure --- when another Vulture is landing near the nest, then it IS a nosy visitor
There is so much more space and location to land, when one would only want to have a nice place to land in

Finally, there has been a hatch
It's difficult to get a glimpse of the chick, but shortly before 2 pm local time the male, having just replaced the female, could be seen moving a large part of the eggshell out of the nest bowl. That part of the eggshell is now just to the left (from the viewer's perspective) of the nest.
Before moving the eggshell part the male could also be seen eating up from another part of the eggshell.
Right now (2:30) the male is standing with his back to the camera, completely denying viewers a chance to have a peek at the hatchling.

Hi Marbzy
I am a bit shocked .... someone else than me is posting here in this topic .....
Thank you for your report.

Dad T49 takes care of the hatchling and fetches eggshell closer to him
Nest bowl is too deep and hatchling still too small to get a proper look on it
No sound video

Little head is moving, can be seen best on a bigger screen

Dad T49 nearly rolls the eggshell back into the nest bowl
Then he smashes it. I wonder what he will do with it, e.g. Eagle Owls eat the egg shells

At 1 pm (nest time) a feeding is in progress. Mom K74, who must have replaced the male in the last few hours, is regurgitating as if she were supposed to feed an army of chicks (before taking over from T49, she must have enjoyed a proper feeding herself, judging by the colour of her neck, all dark pink/maroon from the meal she must have had recently). The chick seems to be fine, its head and beak are making the right movements.
Bea, thank you for all your reports No, you're not the only one following the griffons - I've been watching the pair and reading your posts for a couple of weeks, and was thus able to roughly guess when the chick might hatch. Fingers crossed it grows into a healthy fledgeling.
Were you able to capture the feeding on video? It'd be wonderful if you could publish it on the forum.
