From the chat

Leonhard Helm;
We are trying. It is very weak and I do not know if I can still get it to the falconer alive.

Leonhard Helm;
And then, of course, we are also a little bit at a loss as to what can be done. But we're trying.

Leonhard Helm;
Thanks to everyone who observed this and gave such good advice. So at least I knew what had happened and was able to start looking.

4:38 PM - Nic Bit - Dear Uhuf friends, I have received a message from our falconer. The little break pilot is fine. No internal injuries and no broken bones could be found in him.

4:42 PM - Nic Bit - Just a few bruises and bruises. He has been extensively examined and also X-rayed, at the moment he is still in the clinic, but will be picked up tomorrow by the falconer and

The break pilot :D

Wow, Sova!
This is a completely new cam for me. And such sad news. I do not understand why we human cant ensure that small nest with some technical staff... like nets. Somebody above already mentioned it (Mamicja, I think) - Americans put net under nest when chicks fell down fot the first time. If I can understand properly, some chicks fell down during last season from this German nest, so people could think in advance what to put under it. They could save a life of the smallest chick. :cry:

Hello Lubaska :hi:
Maybe because the castle is protected and people weren't sure if the eagle owl would come back. It only nests here for the second year.
But I do not know for sure....

There are three owlets in the nest, two big and one tiny. It is a half the size of its siblings.

But the small one does it's best to be close to mom's beak during feeding. Fingers crossed for this small fighter.

Owlets have started their adventures. They can fly from the net below back to the nest or from the nest to nearby pillar.

One of them landed on the pavement in front oh the school. Finally it found the safe place on the nearby tree.

Parents and school staff take care of them. Wish them lot of rodents and safe life on the desert.

All three owlets have fledged. The last one tried to fly to the rafter, but missed. It landed in the school lobby and finally joined the sibling in the tree on the school courtyard.

Two days ago one owlet fell down from the nest at night. It was spotted on the nearby tree.
Today the next owlet started to explore the nest tree.

The place where the nest is looks like an old mine. Its construction does not look stable, especially the part above the nest. I hope it doesn't fall before the owls fly away.

All siblings (even the smallest owlet) are very active, and parents provide enough food for all three.
Closeup of mom and owlets.
