Today, the Princess bowed very deeply in front of the Prince.

They are very much in love.

And the Princess ate well too.

Edit: Why is (only) his right foot so dirty? :puzzled:

Apparently, Karl II stepped into something grubby.

And now some moss sticks to it.

May 14th
Good Morning

Both spent the night in the nest.

05:39 mating. It's a very lively scene and the little princess hovers / flies from the nest.

Image

05:42 Karl II is sitting in the Nest.
05:52 Karl II flies away.

07:39 the female lands on the right outside the camera window and then hops into the nest from the right.
Nestwork now.

08:29 little Princess is still alone at home.

09:15 femal shows defense behavior? This behavior looks more like the feeding posture of chicks.
Karl II comes and they sing together.

begin 09:54
very interesting! The female lies down. Karl II touches his beak. The female gets up to lie down straight away.
Karl II loosens the nest floor around the female. He climbs over them. Plucks her with her beak. She stays seated!
Image

10:10 the female is still sitting. Karl II does nest work around them.

Oh no, Please no egg!

Image

She actually laid an egg. :puzzled:

10:15 mating

10:20 Karl II is breeding. The female touches it with its beak. He gets up again. Both Nestwork.

10:24 Karl II sits down. The female plucks his beak again. He gets up again.

Karl II loosened the nest floor. It forms a beautiful nest cavity.

I am very worried that the chicks will not have time to grow up to the migration of their parents and will be left :banghead:

I don't see the announcement here, yet, but Karl and his partner just had an egg. Karl keeps sitting on it and twice she beaked him off; she is preening and he is nesting, moving the egg and moving the moss. It is the best watching time since I began on this forum.

I would say " oh dear" too. Hope for the best.
At least it is a pair and next year they probably will meet again and earlier.

Just would like to remind:
