In the YT comments at 13:19 there was a sentence that the Great Reed Warbler is now singing more or less non-stop for about 10 ? 12 hours...

I saw the small bird at 12:46 - at first the bird's shadow appears in the water 12:46:27 and then it is already visible at the top of the reed, after flying away it reappears in the middle - on the broken reed.

In video first the scene at normal speed, then 2x slower.

:hi:
thanks, Fleur, Made, Moira, venegor, Hellem, Guest for the interesting insights in the swimming nest!
In the last night i saw the sleepless Great grebe, somewhat worried or disturbed - no idea.

At first near the nest, then she sat on the eggs, then again standing up:

Fleur! :hi:

Was it a small fish in his beak? I wonder why it was important for him to eat it in her presence? (I don't differ by gender, I just think so. )

Biker! :hi: You also was sleepless.. it is very nice stream, I wish success for this pair.

Fleur, very nice shots!

I saw two fishes in the beak..(likely)

Look at 4:02 of video (12:20 of camera time) - fish, isn`t it? And he eat the fish (is better, if set 2x lower speed)..

And here also - in the first visit (half of the first minute). He used to do it... why? :puzzled:

I like thought, that he reports in such a way, that he is redy :D
In a clutch of two or more hatchlings, male and female grebes will each identify their 'favourites', which they alone will care for and teach. /https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_crested_grebe/

Once the babies have hatched, the parents divide them among themselves and each of them takes care of their side of the children. The father of the babies is the first, because he takes the first hatched birds, while the female continues to hatch the remaining eggs. /GT of https://lv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cekuld%C5%ABkuris/

22.41 A beaver came and sat on the nest

Image

it stayed there for a short while - i don't know if beavers eat eggs, but at least one of the eggs seemed destroyed

it leaves the scene
Image

and the bird comes home now

:hi:

The beaver weights about 30 kg  , I think they don't eat eggs, the beavers are vegetarians, he was only sitting and cleaning his fur :slap:
