Ame, i didnt have any breaks at 10:30 i am watching directly from Youtube and not through recording software

Chrissy, i had two or three hiccups but none after that. i hope that the stream will stay stable. yesterday it was so terribly frustrating.

10:58 Malda stepped on Reinis on her way to bed.

11:14 i think that the "screams" were some sticks rubbing each other and squeaking. the wind was very hard. Reinis yawned twice.
11:53 no pellet.


11:56 Reinis got up and began WEx. he "smelled " the wind with his wings. then he made WEx jumping on Malda.

Malda got up, too, and both made WEx.
11:58 Reinis was actually flying above the nest.
11:59 more feeling on the wind.
12:00 he lay down. Malda made WEx on the left edge.
12:01 she lay down.

12:00 Malda got up and made WEx. then she lay down again.
12:01 someone interesting flew over. both looked up.
12:02 i think Malda nibbled Reinis in the back. Reinis didn't like it. beak measurement! that was not friendly. both got up.
12:03 Reinis pooped. then he made strong WEx. he was feeling the wind.
then he looked down on his bridge but didn't go there. perhaps it was too windy. instead he made WEx on the nest.
12:05 he walked to Malda. she nibbled his feathers. Reinis was looking at the bridge... but he didn't jump there. maybe the wind was too hard. both began to preen.

12:10 some beak measurements. then the wind began to blow hard. both lay down.

12:14 Malda got up despite of the hard wind.
12:17 she made WEx.
12:18 Reinis got up. both preened.
12:21 Reinis lay down.
12:22 Malda tried WEx but the wind was too hard.
12:24 she lay down.

At 12:37, Malda shifted the stick.

Today Malda is 74 days old. 10 weeks and 4 days. (If Malda is indeed the oldest eaglet and no mix-ups have happened in the meantime)
Reinis is about 1.5 days younger.

they both seem to become more confident in their wings at about the same pace. their age difference is so small. anyone of them may be the first.

13:30 Malda got up. she made eagle yoga which was not quite easy in the wind.
13:31 she lay down again.
13:43 Reinis saw something interesting. then he rushed up to feel the wind.


13:44 he began to make strong WEx. also Malda got up to preen.
13:45 she lay down again. Reinis felt the wind ... then he made some WEx with jumps.

13:52 Reinis was hovering above the nest. this he stayed in one place in the hard wind. he had better control of his wings than earlier when the wind blew him back.
then he stood for a while in the wind with his wings stretched, feeling the wind in the wings.
13:54 - 55 more WEx in the hard wind. (a week or two ago we had here the video of an eagle flying with a camera attached on his back. there one could see what the wind looked like on the wings. it was something similar to this. this hard wind gives an opportunity for to practise real flight. seen from the ground flying looks effortless and silky smooth in our eyes but up there it is hard work with the wind ruffling the feathers all the time.)

14:00 Reinis got up and lay down again. (i could not see why really)
14:12 Reinis got up.
14:13 he made a jump which was not very successful. he lay down instantly. the wind was a bit deceitful. he is careful!

14:58 Reinis turned a little.
15:00 some beak measurement, quite friendly. Reinis began to dig the nest bottom. he grabbed a fistful of mushed hay and started WEX & CEx with it.
15:02 balancing on top of the sticks on the right... WEx. then he picked and plucked a stick, or actually it was perhaps an ex-green twig which had gone bald.
"... where to put it?"

15:08 Reinis made WEx. a PS. then more WEx.

15:09 Malda got up, too, and made WEx. Reinis continued stick work. he put the stick in the middle of the nest, at straight angles with the other sticks.

15:13 both started working with the stick.
15:14 Malda lay down. Reinis, too, a little later.
15:15 Malda got up. ... but down again.

15:30 Reinis started nibbling Malda's face in a friendly way... finally he tried to pull out Malda's tongue. a French kiss. even Milda and Raimis don't go this far.

15:44 (almost) Malda made a PS. then WEx.
15:45 Malda made WEx and kicked Reinis. he got up. more WEx by Malda. she pushed Reinis who complained.


15:48 Reinis was almost blown out by the wind.

the eaglets looked at someone flying by (invisible to us).

then again.
... and again.
16:10:20 louder. Malda was preening.
16:11 louder and louder screaming....
Malda was looking in the sky... Reinis only whined. odd.

16:13 Reinis whined more. Malda began to look high in sky...
16:14 also Reinis turned to look in the sky. an eagle flew by from left to right on the top right.


then the eagle flew around the nest tree behind it to the left. the eaglets looked at it.
16:15:04 in the top left corner far and high flying to the left. it must be a parent.
