BUNDstiftung Goitzsche-Wildnis -fischadler Web cam /Osprey web camera
Since 2010 every year the ospreys have been breeding on a remnant of the open-cast mine - a lattice mast - in the Goitzsche wilderness. And they are successful every year! In order to learn more about the life of these animals and also to be able to observe the behavior of individual birds, we have installed a webcam at the eyrie. From April to September you can watch the family life of the Osprey family there. We are courious when we will see them in 2021. In the last two years we have seen them from 24.March onwards.
The webcam was co-financed by Chemiepark Bitterfeld-Wolfen GmbH.
Another falcon is in the nest. This one has an adult dress ... right? Hawks are new to me.
Arrival 15:56:57
I can't exactly say male or female for either. He nods his head. Is the courtship behavior?
The wind is strong but I think it is being called from afar. Yes it is. At least I hear calls.
He does some nest work.
16:00:52 He leaves the nest.
I can't say whether he's out because of the shock, but he's definitely rushing during the start. Apparently a metal part has detached itself from the construction and falls loudly downwards.
Back 17:24:24
Out 18:09:45
He clearly feels at home there.
Thanks Liz for sharing!
A beautiful piece of earth. I have just enjoyed the evening mood with beautiful light, birds chirping and the hawk. 18:02:19 - 21 a flock of birds pulled through the picture.
The ospreys were back around March 24th for the past 2 years. There are still a few days left and I am curious to see who will occupy this nest in the end.

Thank you Birdfriend. Now I see who the male is ....
They probably won't stay there, but these hawks are lovely to look at for that time. There is a video about this nest from 2020. It mentions that the resident male arrived in late March. The resident female in early April. In between there were 2 other interested females. The first egg was laid on April 17th.
March 24th (link description) is therefore misleading.
We will see.
