The beginning of Ludwik's journey from Masuria to… Silesia!
A young black stork named Ludwik just took off on August 1

on his first journey to Africa

The transmitter with the number CNIG15 (in 2019 it was owned by the famous female Cuba, who was eaten by jackals in Croatia), received during ringing on June 26 as one of the four handsome chicks. Ludwik weighed 2.5 kg then, and his cute yellow beak was 11 cm. On the first day of his journey, carried by warm winds, he flew a huge distance of 413 km for the first daily flight, covering the entire Mazovia and the Lublin region. Interestingly, on the second day he radically changed the direction of migration to the west and today he reached the ponds of fish farms in Silesia. Before departure, he took a farewell photo by our camera trap, which since March documented the entire brood run on a huge old oak. Luckily, in the winter, the Nowe Ramuki Forest Inspectorate secured this site with a protection zone

TURKEY - District of Seyhan, Adana Province. The stork continues flight over Turkey. Its last location is east of Dörtağaç village, in the field.

This young stork is about 30 km away from its sibling 5709 (at the same time). Both have Iskenderun Bay in front of them.

TURKEY - Hatay Province. We only have new data for a short period of time. The stork is in southern Turkey near the Gulf of Iskenderun. Location is probably during the flight.

- their pathway is often parallel (the same group/flock?), but some times there are bigger differences in distance and time
- typical situation when groups/flocks mixed (and siblings are not in the same place) are their stop-over sites/feeding places (Ukraina and Prut river in MO/RO)
- today their locations are quite distant how you wrote (it is a pity that 5713's transmitter has gaps

ISRAEL - the stork remains in the area south of Zubaydat and the Zarqa River. There it crosses the border between Jordan and Israel. It made a trip to the south where it has a position in the field. Last location is on the Jordanian bank of the Jordan River.

Yes, Solo, it is interesting to follow the journeys of the siblings.
Here is another pair, from Milicz's nest. On the way, they met and divided. Now they are both in the Sinai Peninsula (but the dates are different, maybe they are elsewhere). I wonder if they will meet again.
Unfortunately, they do not have current data.

there are more factors know, but still unknown - endogenous information, but also social interaction etc. (where they fly)
