another bird flew by - left to right, in the background - around 12.25:40-ish - might have been this buzzard's companion?
...
Buzzard came alone across the meadow / field

Buzzard came alone across the meadow / field
buzzard arrived at the nest at 39 seconds (12.25:39)

here's a picture of the second bird - it flew past just a few seconds later - yellow circle is the bird, green lines is the trajectory it flew by - it might have been an eagle even, as i saw a flash of white before it vanished....

Today I will remove this camera. That will be replaced to Lesser Spotted Eagle nest, who are still on way to breeding sites.
According information of local people this year current pair is not breeding, but they hold territory.
Next year the WtE camera will be probably in another place.

Oh, a pity they didn't want to breed this year.
This was the best of the cams for birdsong with a mix of forest, farmland, waterbirds and a good mic. (birdlist is long..)

Thanks for the show and hope it comes back here next year :2thumbsup:

(BTW: maybe the Linnulaulcam could move here, that would be something  )

Merry Christmas everybody! Image
Urmas sent me e-mail.
Will send you good holiday wishes from Illimar, chick of our Saunja webcam nest 2013. Or with help of Illimar, if it looks more realistic. Illimar was lost since Jan 2017 after photographed in Lithuania by Boris Belchev. But today Valeri Shtsherbatyh sent one image of Illimar (taken 20.12.2020 about 20 km north of 2013 webcam nest).

it's our little Illimar! :loveshower: he has become so handsome! :loveshower:
this is the best Christmas gift ever. thank you Urmas and Valeri! Image

Illimar was ringed on 31.5.2013. here you can read all about the ringing:

OMG ame! thank you! :loveshower:

It was my first eaglet that I've observed. I was so unhappy when the camera went off. It's so exciting to see a picture of him after all these years. He's just beautiful :loveshower:

He looks very strong :2thumbsup:

Good Morning !
Boxing Day 2020

A wonderful start to a new year!! So many years since...
It gives hope that some of our kids are not too far from nests. What if... Angelina will show herself? :rotf:
Nowadays, there is more hope to meet them again because there are many strong cameras in every place.

With the white surrounding !! It's really a special weekend!!
