HU, Gemenc - Keselyűs

the first black stork is there :loveshower:

"Last year, one day apart, on March 3, the first black stork arrived in the nest. This year, the highly protected bird landed on March 2 at 7:16 p.m."

Megérkezett az első fekete gólya a Gemenci erdőbe. A fokozottan védett madár a bekamerázott fészekbe landolt 2021. március 2-án reggel 7:16-kor. ... Az Afrikából érkezett fekete gólya a fészek elfoglalása után közel fél óráig rendezgette és takarította azt, majd feltehetőleg élelem után nézve elrepült. ...

The first black stork arrived in the forest of Gemenc. The highly protected bird landed in the camera nest on March 2, 2021 at 7:16 p.m. ...
The black stork from Africa after occupying the nest he arranged and cleaned it for nearly half an hour, then presumably flew away looking for food. ...

Is it because of two last terrible seasons? Out of sight, out of mind?

because too many hysterical reactions have been written and the interested organisations and their representatives were grossly, aggressively attacked

you see this film? https://eng.lsm.lv/article/features/vid ... y.a390037/

and I think you read that https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 05#p779105 (source: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLcDRfZgJBL/)
this principle applies in most countries: "If the cause of the danger is man-made to begin with, then we are more likely to intervene than if it were natural."
rescue of individuals is usually regulated by law only in relation to individuals found outside the nest, intervention on nest is very, very strictly regulated

Asteria, you know my opinion: the solution is not only in the rescue of selected individuals, but in systemic changes in favour of individual species and I know your's already too

The problem with eyes of E's was not man-made, the reason of the infection they got was not known, nevertheless CROW retrieved them, cured and returned in the nest. To supply storks with additional food would be much easier than treating the eaglets.

I haven't seen that movie before. It reminded me of the excursion to Aushwitz, sorry.

i cited: "If the cause of the danger is man-made to begin with, then we are more likely to intervene than if it were natural.""

When observations showed signs of eye infections in the Eaglets, the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service permitted their removal and treatment.
(https://www.dickpritchettrealestate.com ... -soon.html)

CROW will be removing the eaglets from the nest this afternoon for rehab, treatment and hopeful re-nesting as soon as possible. They did confirm a possible infection and worked with the local/national wildlife authorities for approval. (https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 63#p775263)

HUNGARY, Gemenc - Keselyűs
info http://gemenczrt.hu/media/feketegolya-feszek/

MARCH 5
3rd and 5th wasn't stork in the nest even once. On March 4 stork arrived around 8 in the morning and by 14:30 in the afternoon was our stork at "home". He groomed the nest with little enthusiasm, cleaned his feathers, but mostly slept on one leg. Before leaving the nest, he carefully checked the protective cover and the suspension of one of the cameras.

2021. MÁRCIUS 8.
A hétvégén megfontolt tempóban folyt a fészek felújítása. Minden ágnak meg kell találni a megfelelő helyet, és ez nem megy mindig könnyen még egy gyakorlott mesternek sem.

MARCH 8
(GT without correction) The nest was renovated at a considered pace over the weekend. Every branch needs to find the right place, and it doesn’t always go easy even for an experienced master.
