11:28:28 You can see flight movement in this area. Before ....

... 11:28:37, 39/40 the calls of the Goshawk can be heard. :innocent:

13:42:31 - 34 tender calls, not far away

16:30:39 Call from a great distance, excited
(The stream ran from 16:30 to: 39, then continued to 16:31)

March 22nd

Good Morning :hi:

The first people passing through could already be heard here in the area today. A number of different tones could already be heard.
A little distant but clear enough to wake me up.
05:58:57 - 59:00
05:59:08 short call
05:59:22, '25, 33-35 (series of short calls), '52, '57
06:00:06 - 08 call like begging call
06:02:22 'Gjak'
06:02: 41/42 dear tones
06:03:04 'Gjak', 12/13, '29, 47/48
06:03:54 - 57 Call like begging call
06:04:10 - 12 also
06:04:22-26, 33-35
06:04:47 - 05:00 indistinct, as if the bird is moving?
06:05: 30 / 31.50 - 53
06:06:06 - 08, '16, 28/29

Shortly afterwards, crows show their vocal volume, many minutes.
There are two cracks in the tree while the crows are circling. However, I suspect a smaller bird near the microphone.
I will continue there but first I will make myself some tea.

06:13:20 the cracking again, but not directly in the tree. Very close but ... undergrowth?
06:33:35 too. And again the crows get excited.

The situation remains tense. The crows are in constant use this morning.
And even if the Goshawk can't be seen - I'm sure it's there. :innocent:

07:20:39 -41 finally the call! :loveshower:
And it sounds like he's calling from the tree.

07:22:09 dull noises in the tree and some birds leave the tree with complaints.

07:36:20 - 29 The Goshawk is still in the tree - a nice call :innocent:
07:37:55 - 38:02 Call now away from the tree but close

These crows are driving me wild today ...

07:41:50 - 59 Call again nearby
The goshawk sounded a little annoyed.
07:44:47/48 Goshawk call

08:31:42 - 45 Goshawk / Jay?
"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

The sounds we hear may be part of the neighboring couple that have expanded their territory (quite close) and that for now will be in luck for the temporary loss of their neighbors. It may also be due to floating individuals in the territory, but in this case it is most possible that their vocalizations were close to the nest.

As for the sounds of jays imitating the Goshawk, the ones I've always heard have been the usual ki-ki-ki ...

Hello Emiliano :hi:
I'll have something else on the subject of imitation in a moment. It made me smile.

I had to take a break. Hopefully I haven't missed too much.
When I changed the devices I let the chat that 10:21 a Goshawk flew. Otherwise I always closed the chat. I checked the situation with a little margin and also 11:21 - I didn't see anything. Too bad. I would have been happy.
Currently I'm hanging at 12:24. I hope that wasn't it for today.

Yes, we have been hearing the calls from this distance for a long time. Maybe it is actually this handsome male Goshawk and his female ... .

I'm a little sad not to have seen the Goshawk today. He's been here for a long time and there are different options: hunting (I would personally rule out) or looking. For a nest ... a partner? He only sounded stressed once, otherwise I found his tones soft. :innocent:

(I have just added a video to 2 of his calls / moments.) :innocent:

Another bird (or 2?) try his hand at goshawk.

08: 38: 16/17 removed or quietly
08: 38: 18/19 louder voice
08: 38: 20/21 answer the quieter voice again

Sweet! :2thumbsup:

Maybe it wasn't an imitation but similar to goshawks. (To rule out Sparrowhawk?)

09:02:00, 09/10 distance
There were other calls in the distance but some were unclear. I had to come forward rather than backward ... so it stays open.
09:02:24 A crow passes the nest tree on the right, but turns around.
Meanwhile, a shadow silently loosens from low to the left of the nest tree. You can see the shadow, even on the trunk. ('27)

I'm letting go of something else (without much expectation), but already now I wish you all a nice evening! :innocent:

I stop at 13:29 (I'm still winding) because goshawks are sounding on my second tablet with live time. :puzzled:

Either the echo is strong or there are 2 goshawks.
I have to calm down and sort myself first. I'm so excited right now.

17:09:06 Landing on the upper branch. The belly and tail feathers look youthful.
....delicate sounds

Image

17:10:46 The Goshawk leaves the tree to the left, calls out, flies through the undergrowth. A second Goshawk is calling too.

Both to 17:11:09

17:11:26
shouts again 17:11:25-27, 47-52

He is excited.

(I'll take care of the ring later)

The Goshawk jumps onto the side branch. He is completely relaxed now. :innocent:

17:18:43 he falls headlong. :D

17:21:00 - 05 call directly
17:21:08, '11, '15 very tender

17:28:55 Thumpy wing beats can be heard.
A call is made immediately and the second Goshawk ends up in the nest, somewhat complicated. :D
Adult dress, no rings.

The Goshawk directly grabs a branch and knocks it down. :whistling:

The Goshawk is cute ... take a quick look and fly straight onto Boka's branch. Then one floor up .... :puzzled:

The camera has leaps in time ...

17:40 The crows begin to gargle.
Calls 17:45:04 - 06 17:46:06 - 10

Short 'gjak' 17:51:15, '17, '19

The noise is indescribable. Crows, seagulls and the nesting dog sound the alarm together.

17:53:04 The goshawk in its youthful plumage flies from the left onto the outermost branch. He pauses for a moment, seems very excited again ... more hormonal than nervous.
He jumps straight from branch to branch. He then sits up there waiting ....

Image

17:54:19 and he falls headlong again.

Short, warm sounds follow immediately
17:54:21, '23, '24, '26, '28, '31
Again
17:56:09, '10, '11, '14, '16
17:57:22, '26, '28, '30, '32, '35

Sounds:

17:57:42 Call and it sounds like a second Goshawk is joining in. Until '54 (?)
17:58:33 The goshawk in the youth dress lands very confidently in the nest - just in front.

Peck soft sounds and twigs ...

17:59:04 and out. Almost upside down :D
