I have not followed the events of the nest for two days and I have to say that the chicks have grown fast.
07:41 I think the catch is a hare, the hind legs are clearly visible

European hare can weigh typically between 3 and 5 kg, Its head and body length can range from 60 to 75 cm.Sabsy wrote: May 11th, 2021, 10:12 am Good morning JaLe,
At first I thought a hare could be, but the size of the eagle and the wild hare do not match, right?
Because our white-tailed eagles are already very big, how big would this hare have to have been in proportion !?
Greetings Sabsy
Yes, I know everything, that's why I wrote that the size ratio is wrong.JaLe wrote: May 11th, 2021, 10:17 am European hare can weigh typically between 3 and 5 kg, Its head and body length can range from 60 to 75 cm.
There is no hoof in the foot, so so it is not a deer, if you look at a picture of a hare’s leg, there is no doubt who owns the legs. I looked at pictures of a sea eagle eating a hare and I think the size of the hare is very similar to the size of the prey.Sabsy wrote: May 11th, 2021, 12:12 pm Yes, I know everything, that's why I wrote that the size ratio is wrong.
Based on the runs, this hare should have been twice the size of a full-grown sea eagle.
In the video you can see very well how big the carcass of the almost eaten animal was
and then the cervical spine, which is never that long from a rabbit plus the head.
thank you HellemHellem wrote: May 11th, 2021, 6:26 pm Liz, 13:22 it was Eve who brought the fish, Eerik was on the nest with the chicks
