05:45:02 - 07 H21 calls for contact with H44.

07:52:40 She gets up and flies straight into the area. H21 notifies H44 by calling.

07:53:27 He's there. H44 takes over and reports.

He looks a bit rushed, breathes quickly ... wings sticking out.
But he has a full harvest.
Image

08:21:45 - 51 H21 calls in the area. She pulls out the first note again and yells at it.
I remember the first time I heard that from her. It was also during an annoying situation with crows and about to lay eggs.
08:22:02 - 06 H21 and crows in unison.
Also '20 - 22
More calls
08:22:30 - 35, 39 - 44 (here H21 moves away from its position)

08:23:39 H21 flies up into the nest ... first a nice green branch.
Image

Image
Both H's chirp gently to each other. :innocent:

08:25:07 H21 begins to call out H44 again, softly plaintively.
Sometimes I have the feeling that then she sends him out of the nest.
And this time too, H44 reacts in the same way - he turns and leaves the nest at 08:25:11. Calls

08:25:52 - 56 He can be heard again from a distance.
"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

09:18:50 H44 can be heard softly.
09:19:11 H21 gives two quiet tones, also 24/25.
09:19:33 H44 comes into the nest. He brings a mini branch .... H21 squeaks with enthusiasm.
Image

She gets up and H44 heads straight for the eggs. One H44 - one goal. 8-)

And yes, it will be changed.
09:20:44 H21 flies onto the side branch and then out. Calls.

09:49:52 It cracks and H21 flies into the nest with a small lap.
She has apparently plucked a fresh twig below the nest and is bringing it with her.

H44 is impressed with their candy and quickly with the eggs.
Image

First he stops at the nest and loosens his feathers while H21 works on the nest floor.
According to his movements he still seems to be 'pushing' food.
Image

09:51:48 H21 starts to squeak again.
H44 jumps to the other side of the nest and leaves the nest at 9:52:02.

10:25:43 H21 gets up, goes to the edge of the nest.
She loosens her feathers, cleans herself very extensively ...

Image

Image

10:30:44 Very slowly she goes back on the eggs and covers them again. :innocent:

H21 reactivates your biological egg timer (as it already did in the morning today). She seems to prefer doing this on warm days.

10:50:04 She gets up, goes to the nest beach and cleans herself.
Front / back view ... :D
Image

Image

10:53:00 Now she lies down completely on the eggs again.

The next time she spent alone again ... with chirping birds, lawn mowers, loosening feathers, dozing watchfully and ...

.... roll eggs and ventilate.

14:27:54 H21 calls from the nest.
14:27:57 A bird flies quickly in the lower area.

Crows gargle and the woodpecker drum ...

14:27:18 H21 leaves the nest via the side branch. She calls out with long drawn out noises.

14:28:03 H44 plops onto the edge of the nest and announces its takeover loudly.

H21 calls in the area
14:29:35 - 41
14:30:17 - 22
14: 32: 50/51

14:33:03 - 11 She seems very upset.

Crows can be heard.

H21 continues scolding 14:33:47 - 52

The whole thing seems distant and the background noise is loud.
No timestamps but H21 continues to call furiously and also uses drawn out sounds.

Just thinking aloud:
These long tones mean the greatest urgency, warning or demand? Also in communication with your partner?

14:37 The calls are still ongoing. It was not until '39 that there was a temporary calm.

Somewhat unexpected:
14:41:27 - 30 three drawn out individual calls
14:41:54 - 56 two
14:42:25 - 28 three
14:42:52 - 43:03 A little confusing calls, strange.

Calls from '41 - 43

H44 reacts very obviously.

14:45:23 H21 is back in the nest. :innocent: Again she brings a green branch with her.
Image

H44 lets her go to the eggs quickly and talks gently to her. H21 is not very communicative. She fiddles in the nest bowl without much attention to H44.

She begins to squeak softly again and H44 leaves the nest 14:47:15

The ball on the eggs can't be their harvest, can it? :rotf:

Then there is another period of rolling and airing ... cleaning, watching tits in the nest tree and dozing. :innocent:

Roll and ventilate
15:03 - 05
15:20 - 24

(15:29:49 H21 calls from the nest. Also '56 - 30:04 long tone and then kickers)

15:38 - 42
Image

15:55 - 58
Image

Image

16:23 - 26
16:54 - 58

(17:35:32 H21 calls from the nest)

18:31:54 H21 gets up, loosens her feathers.
18:34:56 She stops lying down again and starts fiddling again.

18:35:12 H44 flutters into the nest.
H21 now lies down firmly on the eggs and calls plaintively and loudly.

H44 pecks her feathers gently and encourages her to get up, but she protests. If she were a cat I would have the picture that she hissed at H44.

H44 tries kisses - and it works. :rotf:
H21 gets up and flies over to the side branch.
She relaxes, now chirps softly and cleans herself. :innocent:
Image

Very idyllic ... both H's and the birds around chirp and don't bother each other.

18:42:19 H21 comes back to the nest and speaks gently to H44 but signals him to go.
Image

18:43:24 H44 leaves the nest.

21:43:42 H21 gets up and leaves the nest quickly and silent.
21:45:12 H44 takes over and reports.

Its beak is open, it looks restless ... it takes a while until it lies down quietly on the eggs.
H44 breathes quickly.

Perhaps his excessive harvest also makes him run out of breath. :slap:

Image

Image

22:00:41 H21 is back.
H44 does not get up. He just looks at her and hopes he can stay.

He knows it ... gets up and H21 is quick on the eggs.

22:01:57 H44 leaves the nest - silently.

Sleep well!

May 17th

:hi:

The day starts today with rain. It was easy to hear, even when it was dark.

05:33:32 H21 gets up and calls out softly.
Image

05:34:03 She jumps onto the side branch and shouts louder before she flies off into the area. No more calls.

05:35:03 H44 takes over, calls and is quick on the eggs.

05:47:29 krakrakra ... the first curious are already on their way.
H44 has her eye firmly on her.
Image

H21 is surprisingly relaxed on the road.
Only a few calls
05:53:39 - 44
05:57:50 - 56
06:02:34 - 39
06:04:36 - 40

But now excited seagulls are pulling through ...

06:06:04 H21 can be seen flying lower down from the group of trees on the left in the direction of the industrial area.
06:06:06 ... now below the nest tree

06:06:11 H21 calls

06:06:39 She flutters into the nest with a green twig.
Image

The change is made quickly.
H44 makes room quickly and leaves the nest only 20 seconds later in flight over H21. :whistling:

07:13:26 H21 gets up and while she is still stretching her limbs on the edge of the nest, H44 can be heard with quick shouts in the area.

Image

Image

07:13:50 H21 is suddenly fast.
She leaves the nest quickly and apparently very enthusiastic ... her calls sound expectant.
It was probably an invitation to breakfast.

07:14:12 H44 takes over with a powerful voice.
Image

He rearranges some branches and then covers the eggs. :innocent:

H44 has been adorned with delicate white feathers over the tail for a few days. I don't know if it's new feathers or if they're going to fail soon.
In any case, it looks playful. :innocent:

08:00:56 H44 gets up, arranges twigs and is briefly distracted by H21, who suddenly calls near the nest.
Image

He looks briefly and then fiddles again, then lies down again.

08:02:46 H21 sends a soft sound to H44 from the tree. :innocent:
08:03:00, '05 too

08:03:37 A crack, shortly afterwards H21 can be heard. She has changed her position and is now fluttering into the nest with a branch 04:01.
Image

She fiddles and begins to move H44 to leave the nest again.
H44 understood.
Image

08:04:39 he leaves the nest and calls.

09:14:54 H21 gets up, goes to the edge of the nest and there begins to loosen her feathers.
Image

Image

She is calm, does not call. :innocent:

08:17:18 Meanwhile, busy in the nest bowl again, she is picking up something. H21 keeps it in its beak, flies it to the side branch and then out. She calls.
Image

At first I thought of a stick. But it could also have been a bone remnant from one of the last prey.

Nice how she arranges the fresh twigs around the eggs.
In hot weather, fresh green cools and moisturizes.
I don't know what it currently means. Does it even mean anything.

No sign of H44 - the eggs are left unattended.
The first flies (or beetles) are now also sitting on it.
Image
(besides, check check ... no crack. Okay, we still have a good 10 days ...)

However, H21 is nearby.
It can be seen flying from the lower right side up into the left group of trees. There she is sitting on a branch, calling.

09:22:41 H21 leaves this position and flies over to the nest.
Image

A new green branch now adorns the circle around the eggs.

09:52 H21 is a bit sleepy.

Turn the eggs and loosen the bottom of the nest
10:05 - 10:07
(Camera jumps between 10: 05/06 ... I think '05)

10:35 - 37
11:00 - 02
11: 19/20
11: 39/40
11:45

11:58:48, '54 H44 calls away.

11:59:25 H21 gets up, calls and leaves the nest 59:39.

12:00:25 H44 takes over and calls.

He is very sensitive to the eggs.
It will probably be difficult for him to cover all of them equally. H44 is a delicate male I think. It works like that.
And sometimes he needs something to get his feet in the right position. He often touches the eggs as if he were stepping on them. But you can see that he immediately takes the pressure off.
Image

H44 inspires me again and again - he has really fine instincts and quickly develops good intuitions.
A wonderful goshawk! :innocent:
