Kaia is a warrior queen :2thumbsup:
I hope the other storks are gone now and won't come back.

Kaia stands on the curved branch.

Kaia is unbelievably good.
Our little princess is very brave and very clever.
She surprises me every day. :faint:

Edit: I didn’t hear or see the intruder(s) fly away… :puzzled:
Where are they?
It would be good if Karl II came home now to show him (or them) the exit for once and for all …

Tense? What do you mean by that? She's standing there quietly.

I am more wondering if Kaia will stay in the nest for the night.

The feathers were so fluffed up von Kaia.

Will Kaia stay in the nest to watch over the chicks?!

I'm curious about that too.

Sorry, I just can't get it translated any better.

Yes, Bibibu, they raise their feathers when they are angry (or scared). It makes them look bigger and more powerful.

They try to impress the ‘enemy’ that way and scare him off. By their posture and ‘volume’. They try to avoid a fight or an attack by discouraging the intruder. ‘Look how big and strong I am!’

Ok thanks Anne7

But there seems to be someone around, she spreads and lowers her tail feather and sings in between.

Now she stands relaxed.

Hello Bibibu
They then pull the wings so long and stretch the thick neck - defense.

Black stork flies in the tree.

This stork did not fly away from the nest, but towards the nest.
I think it is 2 strange storks.

That’s so weird…
Yes, probably (or possibly?) there are 2 intruders.
Usually it’s a single male that harasses a nest, one of the many male bachelors that didn’t find a mate. It’s a well-known situation and behaviour (and a problem).
I can hardly imagine that there are 2 male bachelors here, together?
But why would a couple of BS, a male and a female, decide to disturb another nest? :puzzled:
It’s anyway too late in the season to try to conquer a nest and start breeding.
Their reproductive hormones should normally be quiet already.

Why can't it be 2 "yearlings" who wander through the areas?
Too young for a nest and a family and too old for summer camp in the south. Hang out together.
