Luontolive shared a video today. All visitors one day ... with feathers - without feathers, two legs - 4 legs ... (in the background of the area).

We see both GE again.

What do you think? Male and female? I find the size difference noticeable although it doesn't mean anything. And you are definitely the expert.

What do you think of their relationship to each other?

Wow! a second winter Golden Eagle ringed 2020 from Estonia!!!

This is the second only Golden Eagle from Estonia ever recorded in Sweden

Maybe Kotkaklubi can dechiffer some of the characters on the rings, last one on left black ring is K anyway.

In 2020 there were 20 fledged nestlings in Estonia and all got colour rings.
Hope the local staff was there in the hide and could take good pictures, me only saw the last bit when he already had a full crop (yeah looks like a male)

Edit: got a response from the locals and they had no people on place but say the left ring is --5K

It must have been a magnificent trout. In fact, otters are not 'out of the woods' in Germany either. Only in the east are stocks slowly increasing. Still too little. And frightening how quiet and unnoticed - unnoticed some animals will soon no longer be seen.

Hmm, I personally prefer the style a la Struwwelpeter, but yes...spring makes a lot of things new.

Unfortunately, the GE camera in Romania buffers.
Today the transmission was not stable for an hour. I think the total stream was 37 minutes. If the couple does not decide on another nest (GE likes to have several nests), then the stream is perfectly maintained. That's how it was last season.
And I think there is a test phase going on here to see if the pair will actually breed.

Yeah the one with nesting material is the ringed 4w and I think it's a female since it got rather thick legs.

Today the ad male Goshawk was there 15:35.
At 15:11 a magpie took a shrew eating on the feeder:


They taste bad and are surely not some juicy little mouse snack, wonder if he ate it

I read that golden eagles spend hours preening during courtship. The couple spends a lot of time together grooming feathers - and associated with this is the setting up of feathers, including head feathers.

Since that is not the case here at the feeding station, I explain it differently. Perhaps the male "Red" is very sensitive to "his" territory. He's always observing his surroundings. Is it possible that he is extremely nervous at this time? We also observe the erection of the head feathers in other birds when they are excited - seeing the partner (happily) or in case of danger ...

In any case, Red looks dumb good in it.
