Food from noon.

13:12 - 21 One eats less. H21 eats too.

13:24 - 37 H44 goes in and out several times bringing two prey and eating some of it.

14:26 - 30 They eat two of them, remains of a previous prey.

16:35 - 36 H21 eats something beforehand and the chickens cheer up eating two.

20:27 - 45 Food for all with new prey that has plucked in the nest itself.

21:26 - 31 H21 eats at the beginning, two chickens approach and eat to finish eating her again.

Other activities are placing branches that they bring or those from the nest.
Stretch.

They make good use of their prey, also eating the parents and taking the remains.

Adult vocalizations have dropped quite a bit since chickens hatched.

Today the chickens have finished well full of food.

Regards and good night.

Hello , Polly and all.

5:12:10 H44 comes with prey.
5:14 -20 Food, one does not eat.

6:29 H44 Bring another prey.
6:52 - 57 Food, eat something first H21.
6:57 - 59 H21 comes out with the remains and brings back a green branch.

7:42 - 44 Power cuts off two of them.

It continues to bring branches when entering and the chicks already send the droppings out of the nest.

9:34 - 49 Long feeding at four.

10:22 - 25 Feeding two of the chickens.

They have already spent two longer periods of time alone (10:27 - 48) and (12:23 - 42).
They are not under the mother either, they spend time outside and they move a little more.
H21 frequently eats prey and this encourages the chicks.

...

Greetings.

... Continuation

14:23:06 H21 enters with a prey.

15:10 - 45 Long feeding to the four of them and she who always eats something, surely the hardest and most difficult thing for them.

16:25:44 H44 Brings a new prey.

20:13 - 33 Feeding for the four of us.
21:17 - 20 Last fattening of the day for two of them and a little for another.
21:24:30 H21 that came out after feeding enters making a stop on the branch above.

Today they have eaten well from the five prey that they have brought to the nest.

Greetings :offtobed:

Emiliano, great. Thanks for your documentation. :2thumbsup:
I'm trying to keep up, I'm watching, but I'm not making an active documentary at the moment (we have family excitement and busy).

Yes, I also noted great disinterest.
At times, even later on, there was often a chick that didn't eat. The minis are similar and it's hard for me to tell if it's always the same chick with no appetite. One also seems to be more delicate. However, different genders may already be emerging. Three females and one male?
All Mini-H's are active and vital - that's important.

21:17 - 20 Last fattening of the day for two of them and a little for another.
One chick had remains of food stuck to its beak before feeding.
It was previously visible when it lay down and was still attached to its beak when it stood up. Hope it didn't get stuck in the beak...

09:13 H44 flutters into the nest. He brings small food.
09:14:09 - 12 calls from a Goshawk pretty close.

H44 stays in the nest. Quiet and soft sounds from both...
'17 Now H44 is leaving the nest downstairs.

The chicks get restless under the umbrella.

09:18 H21 pulls out the small leftover food and starts to feed.
It's nice to see how the chicks are beginning to actively consume the feed. They always manage to snatch the piece from H21...one at a time.

To me it looked like H21 was letting their chicks do their thing. Let them playfully learn to acquire loot. Then the lesson is over and H21 plucks bites and feeds her chicks.
A small but nice feeding for everyone.

09:21 again calls in the field (H44?)

09:25 A chick enjoys standing in the rain.
But then slips back under H21.

Well, and so it goes on in the day...
Probably a bit uncomfortable for H21 and the chicks don't seem to like the confinement either. But they will be fine. :2thumbsup:

It is quite a touching image of our powerful H21 resembling a wet rat.
But wild animals are adapted to such adversities - they can endure the weather well for a time and also cope with erratic food intake. It won't last... :innocent:
Image

13:43 H21 gets off the chicks, jumps onto the side branch and shakes the moisture off the feathers. Well, she doesn't do it in the nest.

She returns to her chicks from the side branch.
The minis look great. H21 managed to keep them mostly dry.
The little ones are getting restless...the urge to move can hardly be tamed and hunger is probably creeping up on them. Last small meal at 09:18.
